I have a 1999 chrysler town & country with quad headlights. Where is the fuse for the driving lights (can't find it on the fuse box lid under the hood), and can these lights be wired as daytime running lights? Thanks !!!!!
The fuses that protect your headlamp circuits are Fuse Numbers [4] (Left High Beam), [5] (Right High Beam) [6] (Left Low Beam) and [7] (Right Low Beam).
Fuse 4 is a 10 Amp fuse
Fuse 5 is a 10 Amp fuse
Fuse 6 is a 20 Amp fuse
Fuse 7 is a 15 Amp fuse
All are located in the Power Distribution Center in the engine compartment.
The difference between a 1999 Chrysler Town & Country with DRL and WITHOUT DRL is that one has a DRL module and the other does not. The headlmps themselves are wired exactly the same.
To make yours work, you would have to add the DRL module and reprogram your Body Control Module (BCM) to accept the DRL module. Doing it any other way would probably result in the BCM setting fault codes and possibly even causing malfunctions in other non-headlamp-related circuits.
Thanks !!!
Yes, I found those 4 fuses, but do you know if the fog/driving lights are wired to one of those? The headlights all work (low and high beams), so that makes me think the 4 fuses and wiring above is working.
Actually, DRL was an OPTION for Town & Country in 1999 (I have wiring diagrams for BOTH systems).
Anyway, the fog lamps get their power from the Left Low Beam (20 Amp) fuse #6.
Fuse # 6 has two wire connections. One that runs directly to the Left Low Beam headlamp, and the other goes to the Fog Lamp Relay, which is located in the Junction Block below the left end of the dash.
This connection serves both the PRIMARY and the SECONDARY sides of the Fog Lamp Relay. The PRIMARY side of the relay gets ground to complete the primary circuit from the BCM via the Headlamp Relay Control circuit at Pin 33 Connector 3 PINK wire.
The Fog Lamp switch provides ground for the fog lamps. The BLACK wire at the Fog Lamps run directly to the Fog Lamp Switch.
The LIGHT BLUE wires at the fog lamps run to the Fog Lamp Relay SECONDARY output.
So, the Fog Lamp Relay should have TWO pins that are hot when the low beam headlamps are on, thus suppying power to the fog lamp bulbs as well. Then when you turn on the fog lamp switch, that provides the ground for the fog lamp bulbs.

The first thing is that most of these vans came with daytime running lights. you will need to first repair the headlight and then if you are sure there is no running lights on the van then you will need to install the daytime running light module and relay. this is not an easy job and can be costly.Moving on to the light problem, there are a few fuses that operate the high and low beams, there are not labeled for headlights. You will need to check all the fuses in the fuse box that is located in the engine compartment.
I will tell you first make sure the fuses are good, next is to make sure the bulbs are good. using a testlight check for power at the headlight socket and for a good ground. the most common reason for no lights is due to a bad light switch or connector on the back of the switch pulls out. the other problem is bad wiring to light socket but if all lights do not work then i would say the switch is bad. but always check all bulbs first.good day
Thanks!!!
That was my thought. Tried the circuit tester, and no power at the bulb end. Trued a new bulb anyway, and no success. All the headlights (low and high beams) are working as well as the turn and marker/parking lights). Only the fog/driving lights are out, and they are out on both sides. Thanks again !!!

check the bulbs do not have fractured filaments, and check the headlamp relay.check the sockets for corrosion and if all that checks out ok check the connection on the back of the headlight switch and the daytime running light module

Right headlight sounds blown to me. Other problem needs to be looked at.

Thanks!!!
the 1999 Chrysler T&C does not come with daytime running lights (that was a year later or so).
The fuses and relays are rather well labled under the hood (one fuse for each side, and each bulb (with quad lights on the limited, there is a separate bulb for high and low bulbs).
However, there is no lableled fuse for the fog/driving lights. Tried the circuit tester, and no voltage at the bulb end (both sides have this problem). Tried a new bulb with no success. (which is why I suspect a fuse or an unlabeled relay, hence my query).
Thanks again.
Thanks for the quick reply (i was out working on the problem). Yes, the 4 headlight bulbs are well labeled, but it is the fog/driving lights that are giving me trouble.
Those are the ones I am looking for.
Thanks again !!!!
