A/C in my 2003 ford excursion won't blow cold air. Ambient air temp of 85 degrees, temp at vent 53 degrees while on freeway, on off ramp waiting at light climbs to 62 in one minute. Around town driving stays around 75 degrees at vent (on high, recirculating cabin air. had it in dot dealer, replaced control head in dash ($900+) still same problem.
Any performance testing re auto A/C requires consistant engine revs highway revs eg 1800 exit ramp eg idle stop start 800revs leading to much reduced A/C compressor speed and therefore performance output .Also all testing its desirable to close the bonnet to control design air flow through the engine bay .Also check under dash passenger side air flow pos a filter on return air duct or something sucked up into paper etc .good luck!

I HAVE A 2003 6.L FORD EXCURSION WITH ABOUT 90K MILES WITH NO AIR CONDITIONING. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
SOURCE: Vent control
You have a vacuum leak.Defrost is the default postion(no vacuum).
See if you can locate the small black vacuum line that goes inside the vehicle on the passenger side near the heater core. The trace it back, should see it going to a canister then to the intake manifold.Make sure it is not disconnected or broken somewhere.

Same car, same problem. Press MODE, FRONT and REAR buttons together to reset tempreture. You probably need to replace the sensor GM part number 15047946 it is in the front grill email me for a picture. [email protected]

The most common cause is a bad blend door actuator which controls air flow throughout the cabin. When air flow only flows from 1 section (either floor, vent, or defrost) it's an indication that the blend door actuator is either stuck or broken.
