SOURCE: radio code for honda prelude

The code should be on top of your radio, the only thing you got to do is remove the plastic that goes around the AC controls and stereo. You can either unscrew the radio it self or the AC controls. I have done this a few times just because I misplace the code and of course I have to remove the battery cable to perform certain jobs.

SOURCE: 99 cr-v door locks have mind of their own

Hi Bryan, I had a similar problem with my 97CRV.The problem is with the driver''s door-switch.It forms a deposit that prevents electrical contact. So when you unlock the door and open it ,the keyless remote system still ''thinks'' you've not opened it.It re-locks the doors automatically as it was designed to do if the doors were unlocked but not opened. Unscrewing the switch and wiping off the deposits will surely fix the problem.

SOURCE: Car dies while driving, now it won't start sometimes

Could be a fuel pump that is going bad. Some times when fuel pumps go bad they cavitate and pump not just gas but also air. If you get too much air in the line and not enough gas the car won't start. Have a mechanic check your fuel line pressure.

I believe your battery is not the problem. But have it checked. The slow crank-over is due to the anti-theft feature in your car. When the car senses a theft attempt, it reduces cranking voltage to your starter to around 7 Volts.

Some wiring is crossed that is telling the Brain that there is a theft attempt. There are only a few things which happen when you fill gas. The Emissions system is open due to the gas cap being off and the fuel sending unit is reporting to the fuel gauge.
Possibly the fuel pressure regulator is feeling resistance due to the change in fuel volume.

Again, get a free battery test at Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys. I have not seen a problem like this in several years of working for Fixya. The battery is probably not low, but restricted by the antitheft. Yours is probably a unique condition.

Anti-theft system has nothing to do with it . Battery cables , maybe , Park neutral safety switch possibly ! With anti-theft system problem you wouldn't a click or anything , that is if the anti-theft disables fuel or the starter . Plus the SECURITY light would be on if it were a anti-theft system problem . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that knows how to do starter circuit testing >
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

And what's this identity anti theft system ? No such thing ! The vehicle has a content theft an vehicle theft deterrent system !
This system disables fuel not cranking of the engine. The VCM/PCM will not disable the fuel due to any BCM message for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
If the VCM/PCM does not receive the same password from the BCM as the last learned one, the vehicle will start and then stalls due to the Fuel Lockout.

Maybe it's the anti-theft system an not the remote start . Is the SECURITY light lit on the instrument cluster ? GM anti-theft systems will disable the fuel injectors if there is a problem .

How do i reset my anti thief system on my 2009 dodge ram 1500

It's possible that you will need assistance from the manufacturer of the Anti Theft device. They may have tto reset the system, as an Anti theft device, any thing construed as 'tampering' with the car, or the device may cause it to shut down, and would need tech support from the manufacturer.

Hi,

My name is Ben and I'm your guru, i.e., mentor, an influential teacher or popular expert: a management guru. - origin from Sanskrit, 'weighty, grave' for today.

As you evaluate my advise. solutions and suggestions, there are a few things you must keep in mind:

• I did not diagnose your problem and am therefore only able to evaluate what you tell me. For example, if you ask me a fuse location, that doesn't mean that I can tell you the reason why the fuse blew. I can only react to the information that you provide. So please judge my suggestions accordingly.
• A thorough diagnostic approach involves the use of technical equipment, such as voltage meters. scanning equipment and other sophisticated devices. Diagnostic tools can be borrowed from AutoZone for FREE:
• Lastly, fixing one problem can very easily reveal a problem with something that you might consider unrelated. If that happens, you might want to view me as being incompetent but remember that I can only work with the information initially provided..

Please don't even think about trying to disarm your anti-theft system because there is an easier solution. I'm assuming that you don't have the full Shop Service Manual. If you do, then you know that a shop manual costs at least $100.

So why did I say: Don't even think about it? Your anti-theft device is capable of causing problems that you don't want to deal with. If you have the dealer do the job, the cost can be prohibitive. The anti-theft device tells the on-board computer to shut off the fuel flow and to disengage the starter circuitry.

SOLUTION: Go on eBay and buy an anti-theft bypass module for $10-$20 depending on the year and make of your vehicle. It'll take you thirty minutes to install the device.

All the best

Ben

You most likely have a failed anti theft system. Go to this link to read about these systems. I have no permanent fix for you, but you might be able to bypass the anti theft parts at the ignition. This might get you going. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

My battery had to be recharged on my 1994, BMW 318... My anti-theft system and radio are not working now as a result, but worked fine before the battery was recharged... There is a CODE msg in the...

When you take the battery cables loose from an anti-theft system, You would place a nine volt (9V) battery across the positive and negative cables to hold the memory chip in the systems. This allows you to remove the battery for a period of time longer than a few minutes. The system (anti-theft) is designed with a couple of capacitors in the system that hold the charge for a few minutes to allow changing of the battery. If the battery is removed for much longer than 30 minutes then the capacitors drain and the memory is lost in the chips.

You are going to have to go to the BMW dealer and have them re-write your system, and it will cost you about a hundred bucks. They have the plug in device that will restore the system and it is not sold to the general public. That is why it is called ant-theft, so if someone steals your radio it quits working.
