P1670 is an Immobilizer fault code, the problem is related to the immobilizer antenna the connectors are defective or dirty or just loose.
There are 3 main parts to the immobilizer system. The ignition key, the antenna around the ignition lock, and the control module. The only thing that would need any sort of cleaning would be the electrical terminals that connects the antenna and control module.
Try make a OBD readout. Perhaps there are a troublecode stored in the system.
The relay to operate the gasolie pump in the tank can be defective so the solder is getting hot and loses contact.
try disconnecting the battery ,leave for ten minutes for the electronic gizmos to power down ,i should say make sure you have the radio code , reconnect battery and try ignition if no change will need to be scanned on the Volvo diagnostic setup as i would'nt expect a generic OBD reader to be able to resolve this issue
go to Advance auto parts to test the OBD II sensor codes first to see what codes are coming up. Advance auto parts has one there they can check your codes for free.
Hi the 1998 Volvo Have OBD II and require a code reader to to read and erase code which resets the service engine soon light if you go to AutoZone they will reset it for you for free. Have a good night.
I'm having the same problem. At first I thought it was bad fuel so I replaced the fuel filter to no avail. Then I cleaned the Mass Air Flow sensor which also didn't work. Is your check engine light on?
It is a connection for the rear wiper/washer on the V70 wagon. The same dash harness is used for both models so that connector just hangs there on the S70.
