Replace your fuel pump relay these are do go out once your car hits the 20 yr mark. under driver seat. look for a relay similar to the relay circled in my picture

Listen to see if your fuel pump makes noise when you turn the key on. Test your fuel pressure at schrader valve inside engine compartment.should be 30-45. Psi at idle

Check to see if u have any fuel pressure by pushing on the valve on your fuel rail it looks like your tire valve and it is located on the intake if no pressure check fuse and fuel pump relay and their maybe a inertia switch that may need to be reset or replaced this switch shuts off the fuel pump in case of an accident possible location in trunk on quarter panel

if you remove the fuel cap from the fuel tank put your ear to the tank holehave someone turn the key to the start position or to the run position and if you don't hear the fuel pump buzzing at that turned it is possible that you either have a problem with the fuel pump for the fuel pump wiringsometimes it can even be a bad ground for the fuel pump which is usually somewhere on the fuel tank for the body of the vehicle

Try to loosen the bolt on the fuel rail then turn on the ignition but don't crank the engine. If the fuel doesn't flow then it's definitely a bad fuel pump which will surely require replacement.

How do i know if my fuel pump is bad on my 1995
Well that could be a indication of a bad fuel pump, but it could also be a bad or clogged fuel filter, or even a really needing a tune up... When was the last time you changed the plugs and wires? I would do that before I ever got into the fuel pump issue... You can have the pump pressure tested. Do the plugs and wires, next do the fuel and air filters... If that doesnt help have the pressure tested...

Were is the fuel pump in a 04 ram 2500 diesel, and how do you know it is bad? I have a 1/2 tank of fuel and the filter resavoir is empty, and I was driving when it stalled stalled on me.
You may have either or, or maybe even both..The first fuel pump, is in the gas tank...and the second one is a fuel injection pump....You have to see if you have power at your fuel pump//in the tank..if you do, and it does not work then that one is bad, you can also bang on the tank with a Rubber Mallot, while someone is cranking it, and if it starts..you know its going bad also...8bd411c.jpgab5b38b.jpg
