My 2000 bravada wont start.

Originally my bravada had a slow fuel leak in the return line of the fuel sending unit. So my bf pulled a whole tank off a 99 blazer (interchangeable parts) although the fuel gage bounced around it ran good for a few weeks. other day hopped in ran him home from my place an went inside for moment came back out truck wouldnt start key locked in ignition no power unless you jiggled key but still couldnt turn over to start so we pulled ignition asembly from blazer.....nothing other than now it gave everything power but not wanting to start still. So I had it towed to local mechanics who has since replaced spark plugs an fuel filter an now beleives the fuel assembly maybe causing all the issues.........does anyone have any idea's or have run into this issue before?? Please help Im a single mom an need my truck. Feel free to email any an all suggestions to me @ [email protected]

You pulled the ignition switch and installed a different switch
that means that you have installed a different immobilizer system
try reprogramming the new key to your ECM and it will probably go

SOURCE: i PUT A NEW FUEL PUMP ON A 2000 BRAVADA AND IT

Check all the fuel lines and connections very carefully for leaks and condition. The pump may be drawing some air.

We assume you have the correct fuel pump for the vehicle, that it is operating normally, you have the correct fuel filter and that there are no obstructions in the fuel system as a result of the work carried out so far.

Aftermarket fuel pump failure? Try "thepartsladi" store on eBay for low price GM OEM parts. Could also be wiring harness to fuel pump.

Replace fuel pump chevy

The fuel pump is inside the fuel sending unit. The sending unit is mounted on the topside of the fuel tank. There is a large O-ring that seal the sending unit to the tank (so gas does not leak out). This is a tedious job and requires the tank to be dropped. if the tank is full, the task of dropping the tank will be more dangerous. The fuel filler hose, fuel vapor hose, fuel supply line, fuel return line, and the electrical harness will need to be disconnected before you release both tank support straps. ***NOTE: the two fuel-lines coming off the sending unit are well designed to make them easy to remove. Personaly this design is one of my favorites. No special tools are needed to release the connections.***After the tank is slowly lowered onto the floor then you can start removing the sending unit. There is a round metal ring with four securing tabs. You will see a light blue plastic pin. This pin must be pulled/removed before the metal ring can be removed. NOTE: make sure your work area is clean, free of trip hazards, and no sparks or open flames. After the metal ring is removed, then the sending unit can be pulled out and replaced.

I need to replace the fuel pump on my 2001 Saturn L200 with a 2.2 L Engine. What is the best procedure?

Fuel Pump REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1.9L Engine To prevent excessive fuel spillage, whenever the tank is removed from the vehicle it should be no more than 1?2 full. Removal of the fuel pump module assembly requires the removal of the fuel tank.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Fuel feed and return lines from the filter/pressure regulator
    • Fuel pump vapor line from the fuel tank vent pipe
    • Fuel pump module retaining ring with service tool SA9156E. A 1?2 inch breaker bar will loosen the lockring
NOTE: To prevent bending of the sending unit float arm, lift the pump module up slightly to disengage the orientation tabs in the tank. Rotate the module 90 degrees clockwise until the fuel lines are facing the 1 o'clock position.
    • Fuel pump module from the fuel tank until the bottom of the pump module is close to the fuel tank opening
    • Tilt the pump module approximately 45 degrees to the right hand side of the tank and lift the pump from the fuel tank
    • Fuel pump to tank seal and discard it
    To install:
  4. Install or connect the following:
    • Fuel pump module into the fuel tank by orientating the float to face the right side and tilting the module approximately 45 degrees
    • Fuel pump into the tank and rotate the assembly 90 degrees counterclockwise to align the module tabs with the slots in the tank
NOTE: The fuel pump retaining ring cannot be properly installed if the flange locator tabs are not aligned with the slots in the fuel tank.
    • Retaining lockring with tool SA9156E
    • Vapor line to the fuel tank vent pipe
    • Fuel feed and return lines to the filter/pressure regulator
    • Fuel feed, return and EVAP canister purge line in the fuel tank retaining clip
    • Fuel tank
    • Negative battery cable
  5. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.
2.2L and 3.0L Engines
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.

My volkswagen passat 2003 fuel indicator on the dashboard does not rise and i want a solution for it.

This is your a sending unit in your gas tank. You will need to drive your car on ramps disconnect your battery. Now underneath the back rear of the car using the proper size socket your gas filler neck that goes to the gas tank pull it back. Now using a proper syphon er insert into tank with other end pump out fuel into a large gas can.Once you have syphoned out your gas it is time to loosen the gas tank straps.Have a hydraulic jack handy to support the gas tank as you lower it down. Now disconnect your gas lines and wire harness plug. You will need to remove the fuel pump sending unit retainer once removed you now have the sending unit in hand now reinstall your new or used unit and reinstall.Be sure to make sure all gas lines are connected and wires before you lower car of ramps.Return your fuel to your gas tank reconnect battery and now inspect for leaks and you should have a fuel gage now.

2000 Bravada hesitates when starting frm a stopped position.

get your hands on a fuel pressure tester.. this will tell u if u are losing fuel pressure between starts... those 4.3 v6's have a big problem with the poppet valve (injector assembly) leaking. causing the engine to flood...and losing pressure to push threw the injector... causing the hard start...but the fuel pump module will also lose pressure as has a check valve to keep that from happening but from time to time they do leak allowing fuel to flow back into the tank...with this pressure tester, have a friend turn the key to on.. after you hear the fuel pump shut off immediately pinch off the two fuel lines going from the tank to engine you can find these right below the driver side door. you will find the fuel filter there which is the pressure hose the other hoseis the return... both rubber hoses that will not be harmed by the vise grips or tools be your choice the other metal line is a vapor line which is not important. after you do pinch the lines off check the fuel pressure if it still drops with no signs of slowing down then the poppet valve is defective...if it does not move then you know it is definitely the fuel pump module (fuel pump assembly)

Fuel problem

Check your fuel pressure at the Shredder valve, you should have 60PSI to 65PSI. If you have less then that or more then that your going to have problems with your fuel injection system. The other thing to is to check your fuel pressure regulator. Hook up the fuel pressure gauge and turn the ignition switch to the run position to activate the fuel pump. Once the pump stops pressurizing the fuel line wait and see if your losing the fuel pressure excessively. If you are then your may have a bad regulator and it's leaking internally. The other thing to is may be a bad fuel pump, The good news is the fuel pump in the sending unit in your bravada can be replaced rather then the whole unit. If it is the fuel pump, Buy a heavy duty pump to install to your sending unit. Don't have them sell you the whole unit, pump alone is around average $60.00 other then the whole unit for $230.00. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

Fuel leaking from top of gas tank

sounds like you are going to have to drop the tank out to inspect and fix. with luck it will be leaking from the fuel pump seal or the return line.
Bad luck would be if the tank is rusted out and needs to be replaced.
Syphon as much gas out of the tank as you can before you drop it , gas is heavy.

Where is fuel pump located in 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada?

The electric pump is attached to the fuel sending unit, located in the fuel tank.

bd0ab83.gif
  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Connect the negative battery cable.
  3. Drain the fuel tank, then remove it from the vehicle. Refer to the procedure found later in this section for details.

Using the GM fuel gauge sending unit retaining cam tool No. J-24187, J-36608 (or equivalent) or a brass drift and a hammer, remove the cam locking ring (fuel sending unit) by twisting counterclockwise. With the locking ring released, carefully lift the sending unit from the fuel tank.

Remove the fuel pump from the fuel sending unit, by performing the following procedures:
    1. Pull the fuel pump up into the mounting tube, while pulling outward (away) from the bottom support.

When removing the fuel pump from the sending unit, be careful not to damage the rubber insulator and the strainer.
      1. When the pump assembly is clear of the bottom support, pull it out of the rubber connector.

    To install:
    1. Inspect the fuel pump hose and bottom sound insulator for signs of deterioration, then replace, as necessary.
    2. Push the fuel pump onto the sending tube.
    3. Using a new sending unit-to-fuel tank O-ring, carefully lower the sending unit/fuel pump assembly into the fuel tank.

When installing the sending unit, be careful not to fold or twist the fuel strainer or it may restrict the fuel flow.
    1. Secure the sending unit by turning or driving the lockring clockwise and into position under the tabs.
    2. Install the fuel tank assembly to the vehicle.
    3. Connect the negative battery cable and check for proper pump operation.
NOTE: A special tool is usually available to remove or install the fuel pump locking cam

56ca713.jpg
A brass drift and a hammer can be used to loosen the fuel pump locking cam

Once the locking cam is released it can be removed to free the fuel pump
