SOURCE: to clean the EGR valve

Not sure why you would want to clean it and not just replace it..... it's a cheap part that is normally replaced as part of a tune up. To clean it, remove it and spray it out with a spray degreaser, engine cleaner, carb cleaner, etc. Make sure to rinse it completey and make sure it's thoroughly dry before reinstalling.

1993 accord has dead cylinder

I have seen many of those years Accords with a burnt intake valve, from too much EGR gas entering only one cylinder, overheating and eventually burning and breaking that valve. This causes the valve to not be able to seal the combustion chamber, resulting in no compression and no power from that cylinder. You will have to remove the head and change out the broken valve. When done replacing the valve, clean out the EGR ports in the intake or the valve will be damaged once soon. Those blocked EGR passages are what cause the burnt valve problem in the first place.

You can manually test the egr valve by pushing up from underneath it and seeing if the spring loaded valve moves and re seats itself. If no, it's bad.

How to clean EGR valve passages in 1993 Isuzu Trooper DOHC V6

You have to the EGR valve (sometimes the Intake manifold to EGR Vlalve line also). After you remove it take a drill bit the about 20 % smaller than the actual hole of the outlet side and rotate the drill bit with your hand to dig out the carbon. Aditionally the line coming from the intake manifold to the EGR valve will clog near the connection to the EGR valve. I use either a single piece of copper wire or the wire that you would use to tie ribar together to clean the line. When your done cleaning take a piece of vacuum line and connect it to the diaphram side and **** on it... then plug the line well with your thumb. Grasp the valve and blow thru it... Air should blow thru it freely. Remove your thumb from the vacuum line and try blowing again.. No air should pass thru the valve.
Then reinstall the valve and start the vehicle with the vacuum line disconnected (but blocked off) Use another piece of vacuum line connected to the diaphram again and **** on the line.. The vehicle should die or run really bad. If it does this then you cleaned it correctly.

The egr valve may be faulty or leaking air. Otherwise you may have a plugged or cracked vacuum line or low vacuum pressure

I need to know where the egr valve is located

EGR stands for EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION.

This is a loop back system between your exhaust manifold and the underside of your filter.

The EGR valve is located between the inlet (exhaust manifold) and the outlet (intake manifold).

About 8-12" below the air filter....toward the passenger side.

EGR carbon built up can be clean.

Check the soft membrane on the EGR valve and see is it crack/torn. If it's in good shape then you may reuse it.

The professional use a vacuum hand tool to determine the travel of the EGR.

There are carbon built up inside the EGR air passage tube too,

Make sure you give both a good cleaning.

The EGR base gasket MUST BE REPLACE!

Order one before you start the job.

1992 chevy corsica runs rough, stall or dies after stopping

Sounds the EGR valve and EVP sen is bad even if you tested it. The EGR valve cntrols idle and if carbon up will make the car stall or idle high and low (rpms going up and down) This was common on all cars during that time. I would say replace the EGR valve and senosr. This should take care of the problem. One more thing have the fuel pressure check on the car.

1995 saturn sl2 code 32

Hi. The EGR valve is a very sensitive issue. Buying a used one will always result in a continuing fault code. I recommend purchasing a new EGR valve. Before you install it, be sure to clean the EGR housing thoroughly. there can be carbon build inside where this valve is inserted. this carbon will trip the code if its not cleaned out properly.

please rate and god bless.

SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON FAILED EMISSIONS

Yes, take it back. The might of replaced the Egr valve to turn off the light. Don't let them charge you for retesting it, that's why you took it in in the first place.
