1999 BMW 323i "trunk ajar/open" sensor is activated and won't turn off wether the trunk is open or closed. Need to disconnect for now and then repair in future.

I have a 2000 323i and the the doors need to be unlocked (all, not just the driver's door) for the trunk to be opened manually. Also, if you lock the glove compartment the trunk will not open. Check these first, it may be your problem.
You need to inspect the spark plugs to see i the engine is running lean or rich. I have seen cars set codes or the O2 sensors instead o setting rich/ lean codes.
There is a compartment on the top center of the windshield. This contains a bolt that released the latches that lock the top to the windshield. It takes an allen wrench to unwind the roof latch and it takes an infinite amount of turns.
there is sensors in your boot and on under the flap that hides the roof if one of them is faulty you come stuck. the sensors are there so you dont try and drop the roof why the boot is open
the Trunk Ajar light shows in the dash even when the trunk is closed.
