Just fixed this problem on my '06 Sentra. The AC lines were freezing cold so I figured the system was cooling with no problems but the cold air wasn't getting to the cabin for some reason. I put a snake camera in through the vent behind and to the left of the glove box(you have to remove all of the panels) and saw that the cable that gets pulled/released when you turn the hot/cold knob had broken off from the retaining clip. This caused the whole line to move when the knob turned meaning that the cable wasn't actually being pulled in when turning the knob to cold. I pulled the center dash and CD player out and the cable was right there so I secured it in place with a zip tie. Everything works like new now.

SOURCE: Nissan Altima no cool air blowing or hot air blowing

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

SOURCE: Car AC stopped blowing cold, compressor turns on, Freon at 45

check the thermo control amp, it is a sensor that keeps the evaporator from freezing. I had that problem on my 2000, it's a common nissan problem, google nissan ac problems.

SOURCE: only hot air blowing out of vents

i am a nissan master technition in Wichita Ks. we see this problem frequently. there is an air pocket in your heater core, due to low coolant level. for some resion or another your vehical is consuming coolant (usually head gkt leaking into cyl). and sence the heater core is higher than the radiator, the air pocket gets stuck in the heater core.
wait till the vehical is cooled off, remove radiator cap, install coolant funnel (avalible at any auto parts store). lift front of vehical off the ground (to get the radiator higher than the heater core), fill coolant funnel and start engine. allow vehical to reach opperating tempature and the air pocket will work its way loose. you may need to rev engine to change coolant flow rate in atempts to remove air pocket quicker.

sorry about the spelling

SOURCE: air conditioner in my 2002 Xterra blows hot air

fazsoliz: If the A/C system is not properly charged, it will not cool properly. Usually it is noticed at low speeds because the compressor is turning slower. If you bring the RPM up, you would probably notice it would start to cool a little better.
HOWEVER, there is a danger if the system has been over charged and you do not have enough air flowing over the condenser to keep the head pressures down. The hotter it is outside and the more overcharged the system, the higher the pressures will be in the system. They can reach dangerously high pressures in excess of 300 psi. This can cause hoses to blow, a/c evaporators and condensers to fail and compressors to fail.
If the refrigerant is contaminated or if the system had been opened and had not been properly evacuated before charging, it could have moisture in it as well as air.
The fan which is driven by the engine is attached by a viscus coupling (designed to offer more resistance as it gets hotter, thus making the fan turn closer the the engine's rpm's). If this part is not working properly, it will not make the fan turn fast enough at slow speeds to draw the air over the a/c condenser and radiator.
I have found in very hot climates, that installing an electric fan in place of the engine driven fan made a vast improvement on the performance of the a/c at idle and low speeds. I have an old Mercedes diesel wagon which I converted from R-12 to 134-A.
The a/c would freeze you out on the highway, but you would be better off rolling the windows down in town. I removed the engine driven fan and installed an electric fan. Now the a/c will freeze you out at low speeds if you bring the rpm up to 1100, but is cold enough even at 700 rpm.
You must also check for any type of debris caught up in the a/c condenser. The more trash accumulated in the fins, the more difficulty it will have in dissipating heat. The fan schroud also must be on the radiator, otherwise the fan will have little effect in pulling
air over the condenser.
Also, put the system on recirculate after a minute or so. This way you will be cooling the air in the cabin and slowly bringing the temperature if the cabin air down and not having to fight the need to constantly cool hot air coming in from the intake vent.
I hope that what I have offeref for suggestions will help you.

2006 Buick Lucerne Air condition going hot air could it be a bad fuse or relay if so how can I tell if a relay is bad

There could be a freon leak which would stop the compressor clutch from coming on. If the inside fan comes on and it blows thru the correct vents then I'd suspect a low charge of freon .

Air conditioner blows heat, conditioner was charged, freon, checked relay switch, fuse, door blend alol fine still hot air, was told maybe a block in V shape hose is it temp control value Help

Only way to tell if A/C Evaporator Core Orifice tube is plugged is by looking at A/C gauge readings , An if it is plugged you more then likely need a new compressor , they become plugged with metal particles from worn out compressor. Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

the a/c system could be low on freon but not to low so as the compressor stops working this can cause your problem.you don`t say if the compressor cycles constantly as this is another indicator the system is low.

1998 Town Car A/C Blows Hot Air But Is Charged Up

Hi - There may be 2 separate problems. On my 1991 Lincoln Town Car, there is a Thermal Blower Lockout sensor that disables the heater from blowing until the engine temperature reaches a specific temperature. This way if you have vent or floor settings and 90 degrees set and it is winter, you won't get blasted with cold air. When the vehicle warms up, the TBL circuit enables the climate control to blow the hot air. If you use the flr/def instead of the floor or vent control, the TBL should not prevent the heater from working even with a cold engine. On my car, the TBL went bad and always prevented hot air from blowing on the floor and vent settings, even when the engine was hot. Another thing to check is a thermal limitor resistor. It is designed to cut off the blower at very hot temperatures, except if the blower fan is in the hi setting.

As far as the A/C is concerned, can you verify if the clutch is engaging or not? A rapid cycling of the clutch is an indication of low freon. If you are absolutely sure that you are fully charged on freon, I think there are 2 possible causes: (1) Bad pressure switch on the accumulator is indicating low freon that is telling the compressor not to work; (2) a blocked orifice tube.

Air conditioner blows hot air fully charged with

compressor or receiver/dryer or condensor may need to be replaced. Further testing will have to be done. Look into your sight glass and see if there is any bubbles in the glass, or if glass is extremely foggy. If so, you may have air in the system. Check to make sure you are getting power to the compressor.

Why are you running the a/c with no freon. The compressor will run even if you have no freon because it has no way of knowing there is no freon sensor in any vehicle i know of.

Air conditioner

replace the air conditioner relay, its located underneath the hood, you will see the relay center there, look underneath the cap to identify which is the ac relay switch.
