It's weird that the brakes grind and vibrate even when the car is at a stop. Mine grind as well, especially when I come to a sudden stop, but there's no vibration. I don't know if we have the same problem, but it's probably a good idea to have both of our cars looked at by a repair service just in case it's something serious. http://www.wollongongmechanical.com.au/b...

When was the last time you replaced your brake pads? That is the most common problem with brakes, and you have all the symptoms. In fact, I am afraid that you have started grinding your rotors. If that is the case, the repair might get a little expensive. Make sure to regularly change your pads in the future.

I would take it in to a shop and have a free brake inspection done. They will give you a list of things wrong , and you can go from there.

whos checking your brakes? you need to have them checked by a ASE brake certified mechanic and you will never have that problem.
Also have them check the wheel bearings, could be dry and going away will also cause the grinding sound but that wont set the brake light on... take it to a reputable shop and they will find your problem.

There is a noise and vibration, almost like an engaged ABS. It pulses and has a deep vibration, it does not sound like grinding and it is only present when coasting or braking. It's completely gone when...

Could be u-joints. Play goes away under Torque (accelerating) and returns when parts shift (unload) from Torque like coasting or braking.

Transmission or Torque converter not disengaging, hanging up in overdrive.

First thing with brakes is to check the lining thickness. You can usually see the fronts through the wheel, or look underneath. If you have drum brakes in the back there may be a rubber inspection plug.

But if linings are ok, another risk is wheel bearings. You would then feel it as a vibration in pedal, and through steering wheel if a front bearing.

With the light, have the ABS code read with a ODBCII module. Autozone can do this for free.

2002 Buick Rendezvous Service traction system and ABS lights, grinding when turning ans braking

The ABS and Service Traction system may be due to bad sensors or signal reaching the ABS/Traction Control computer. The grinding may be due to uneven or unsmooth rotors, and/or worn out pads or shoes.

I would recommend that the entire braking system be diagnosed at your local dealer or brake service facility.

Sometime when pressing brakes it kick back and makes a grinding sound on the front driver side

It sounds like you have a sticking caliper. Depending on how long it has been since you replaced your brake pads, you may want to get this done. Your pads could be worn completely out and grinding the rotor. If your rotor is severely scored, you will need to have it turned or replaced.

ABS

Sounds like a bad ABS sensor in the system. The quick fix is to locate the ABS fuse in your fuse panel, remove this fuse and abs is disabled. Your brake will function normal and it is safe to drive w/o abs until you can have it checked out, keep in mind you will lock you brakes under heavy braking conditions.

hope this helps
