There is no reset , if security light is lit there is a problem with the anti-theft system .Should have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Could have 8 different B - codes
DTC B0685 DTC B2955 DTC B2960 DTC B3031 DTC B3033 DTC P1626 DTC P1630 DTC P1631
You would need a professional type scan tool to read these type codes , not an OBD 2 code reader .

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Cobalt, how do you reset a fault code?

Your car has a OBD2 hook up under the dash somewhere on the drivers side, You have to have a computer to hook up to that ODB plug and reset it, If you live near a Autozone they will clear the code for you for free, One other thing you try is disconnecting your battery for about 30 mins, that works on alot cars to reset the check light.

SOURCE: my 2005 chevy cobalt factory radio is locked

There are only 2 things you can try to fix this yourself: turn off the engine and open the driver side door (to turn the radio off). Wait 5 minutes, start your car.
If that does not solve it, turn off your engine, disconnect the car battery, wait about 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery (negative pole first - black connector) and try your radio again.

If neither one of these two fix your problem, I am afraid only a GM service center or dealership can fix the problem. The Cobalt is notorious for all kinds of electrical issues.

Thanks for using the fixya forums!

SOURCE: why does reduce engine power light comes on chevy

That is a hard problem to pin point without knowing what codes the computer has stored. It can be any number or sensors or engine problems.

You can go to most auto parts stores and they will pull the codes for you for free.

2006 Chevy Cobalt SS. How to get past the antitheft system on it please.

A nice simple answer, you can't. Think of it this way, the car doesn't know you are the owner, and it is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have two computer ECM and BCM, plus the antitheft module and a number of sensors all trying to stop you. All you have to do is the re-learn procedure. Plan B is an auto electrician or alarm / radio installer or auto locksmith.

30 Minute Re-Learn Procedure
  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
  3. Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .

2006 chevy cobalt code po446= check engine light on- how do i reset light

Check Engine light must be reset with a scan tool. If the problem has been repaired the light can be reset. Some parts stores will check and reset for free, otherwise it will have to be taken to a shop where they may charge a fee to check and reset it for you.
