Lower steering wheel tilt in 2006 G6 GTP

I'm looking to buy a 2006 G6 GTP and the steering wheel doesn't tilt down as much as I would like it to. I am a shorter girl and even raising the seat doesn't totally solve the problem either.
Do you know if there is a way to "add" more of a tilt to an already "tilted steering wheel"? Or to add more range in height in the power seats?
Thanks!Milee

You will not alter the steering angle more that what you have
however you can raise the seat
get a piece of RHS x 1/8" thick ( comes is dimension 1x1", 2x2", 2x1" and 3x1") and by drilling new bolt holes for where the seat runners are , you can raise your seat up to 3"
Any body with mechanical experience can do it for you or get an engineering shop to make the bits for you

Good Day.....is there an way to lower drivers seat. I feel so high driving in car. Have tried all the wheels and levers on side but obviously not doing the right things. Hyundai Tucson 2006.

Hi Viviana Is your seat manual operation if so is there a lever at the side if you lift it up several times it will raise the seat if you push it down several more times the seat should lower just keep pushing it down till the seat is at it's lowest.
If electric the forward most switch at the side of the seat you need to basically toggle in other words press down on the front part of the switch then press down on the rear part of the same switch.
It works as if you tilt the front of the seat down at an angle then you tilt the back of the seat down to match. To bring it back up just do the reverse. Good luck

How do you virtically raise the steering wheel in hino rainbow bus

talk with a service center as many vehicle only allow for an up/down ( tilt) position of the wheel
you may be requiring the wheel to move in or out closer to the driver

1987cadallic deville steeringwheel

Hi,

Usually, vehicles with tilt adjust steering, have a small lever just under the steering wheel column. Pulling this lever out, unlocks the wheel. Pushing lever back in, locks the wheel.

Have a look for a lever of this type and once you find it, have your Dad hold the steering wheel at his preferred position, then push the locking lever back up, to lock the wheel in place.

Let me know if you resolve this.....

Cheers,

I had to replace the horn cancelling switch on my 1986 Chevy truck. No tilt. I got the wheel and locking ring off, replaced the part and now I can't get the lock ring back on all the way. I've got...

Hi, been there, done that--the likely cause is the bearing slipping out the other end of the column. Go in the engine compartment and push it back in and have someone hold it in while you compress the plate spring.

Trying to remove control arm for a pontaic G6 2006

I had same problem with my 2006 G6 GTP 3.9 Engine. The front control arm pivot bolt would come out only so far and then hit the passenger side motor mount. I had to loosen the two (2) motor mount nuts from below, and then raise the engine and trans so that the pivot bolt could be moved forward enough to pull clear from the control arm. The control arm drops down, so that the sway bar does not have to be loosened or removed. Expensive part !! (lower control arm with ball joint), just to replace a failed ball joint. By the way, I have the "official" GM ZP/ G6 service manual, and it mentions Nothing about the motor mount interference problem. But, without clearing for that motor mount, that front bolt cannot be removed. (I don't have any experience with the 4 Cylinder G6 model, so can't help you there.)

How to fix the tilt steering.. won't go down even when you push the auto button. My heated seats ain't workin either..(driver & passenger seat)

Most often, the stuck steering wheel is a result of a faulty 'tilt relay switch.' If you attempt to use the tilt switch and you can hear a clicking/whirring noise, then its your relay switch, if not, it may be the motor that is broken.
