Hi, if you car have center locking system check that first. On each door there is electric motor to open and close your door. Or check your door mechanism.

is there a check engine light on? There are numbers of things that can cause this.

I didn't initially answer your question, or even read it but I know what you are talking about. The source vacuum to the HVAC system inside the van. It attaches to a vacuum port on the left side of the engine just above valve cover attached to a bracket. They are very brittle plastic and break easily. I found it better to replace the vacuum line with small rubber line, such as washer fluid hose. Its easier to route and can be installed without bending plastic. Feed it from the left side vacuum "T" above the left valve cover, over to the heater valve on the right side in heater hose split. Its the source vacuum to inside, and if lost it defaults to the defrost mode and won't change modes.

I belive this year has the electric actuator thatcontrols the blend door, you will ned to unbolt it and turn door then reinstall actuator to hold door in that postion, this is located on heaterbox.

You should be able to open it with a large screw driver. Simply put the screw driver in the hole where the latch would go and pull the handle to open the door. With the handle in the open position pull the screw driver toward the inside of the van and the latch should open right up. Then close the door. Hope this helps.

You should have a 4l60E in your astro van. Which is electrically controlled, so no vacuum modulator. However, to address the ventilation selector not working... look for a vacuum line exiting the firewall and going to the passenger rear of the intake manifold. You will likely find it broken or disconnected there.

Yes it could but also check under the hood because it is a very common problem for a vaccumm line to come unhooked causing this problem. Hope this helps, Allen, swiftautorepairs.com

some of them are dummies they are not vacuums,but if it is a vacuum line is it color coded?
