2005 dodge ram 1500 hemi. will set code 0132 when starting only some times. O2 replaced both sides.

For the last 10000 miles I sent codes from time to time. Some times when just starting, other times went restarting , engine warn but not in closed loop. Have replaced all o2 sensors.Code will sent and when cleared will run 600 miles with no problem. From time to time just after start, warm, but not yes up to temp engine will not turn up until throttle is past 25% then runs well. Engine light flashes, multi cylinder misfire 0300, then will set code 0152 or 0132. Maybe once in 1000 miles.

Try changing the coolant temp sensor, it determines when the ECU shifts from open loop (cold) to closed loop(hot)

What you should check first is the spark plug for the #1 cylinder and see if there is a white film on it this would be a sign of a coolant leak which would cause a problem with the O2 sensor

SOURCE: Check Engine Light - O2 Sensor - bank 1 running lean

you should have three oxygen sensors on your car, one for each bank of three cylinders; should be towards the Y pipe on each exhaust manifold. Additionally you should have one on the exhaust pipe before the cadilitic converter.

SOURCE: Hard start when cold, running rich, poor fuel economy

Chrysler has a bulletin out for a simular condititon that involves replacing the pcm. Heres the bulletin number 18-005-04. This is only 1 possible cause , Fuel pressure, coolant temp sensor, thottle position sensor all can cause like problems. Seeing sensor values and fuel adaptives with a scan tool helps pin point problems.

A multi misfire may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wires, Faulty coil (pack), Faulty oxygen sensor(s), Faulty fuel injector(s), Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages, Faulty camshaft position sensor, Defective computer.

The engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wire, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Good luck and hope this information helps, keep me posted, be glad to help you get the truck running 100% again. Not sure if your running a K&N air filter, and if you are there may be a flim of oil on the MAF sensor that is making you run lean. You may want to spray down the MAF sensor with a can of MAF cleaner.

Have a 2005 dodge ram with 5.7 hemi has an eng

Dodge/Chrysler EGR valves are known to be unreliable. The one on my wife's 05 Grand Caravan died in the 40k miles range.

They are not really serviceable. The usual fix is replacement. Part will be between $50 and $150 depending on where you get it. Installation most of the time is 2-4 bolts and the harness.

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram hemi 1500 4x4. would not start.

I suspect the gas tank has some crud on the bottom that gets sucked in when level is very low and/or truck is parked on an incline.Suggest installing in-line fuel filter, let gas level get nearly empty and then check in-line filter. If there's junk in the filter, tank needs to be cleaned. Or just keep the tank a quarter full until it can be cleaned.

05 ram with hemi code p0406

Most of the times it is the EGR sensor that has gone bad. It is located in the back right side by the throttle body. You will see a hose that runs from the top of your EGR to the sensor. On your Dodge it is VERY eay to replace.
