Engine light on ,codes are stored in the engine computer ,this will point to a place to start testing . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

most likely it is the electronic control module which is the brain computer that runs the car and all of the functions and it is not allowing the electrical system to operate or come online. your power supply is not reaching the ignition due to some sort of either an electrical short or blockage.
