I think your BCM which is the body control module has failed, have a self test run on it to see if it will give any codes, if it won't test then it is the problem.

SOURCE: Service engine soon light flashing on acceleration

It sounds like u got a coil pack going out. Alot of times when your engine is cold or when you arn't putting a load on it the coils won't fail. How ever when the engine reaches operating temperatures and there is load on the coils that is when they are going to break down. my advice would be to get a scanner and see what cylinder the missfire is at then swwap that coil to another cylinder to verify that the coil is defective. If it is purchase another with a new spark plug put it in and let it rip.

How do you clean EFI ON A 4.3 V6 ON MY 1989 C-1500 2 WHEEL DRIVE

remove the air duct hose that goe's to the throttle body, then you can see the throttle body area, you can purchase throttle body spray cleaner from a auto part store, start vehichle up and let run, and while holding down on throttle so engine won't die, gradually spray the cleaner into the throttle body area, and continue to let engine run untill smooth, so that the cleaner that was sprayed has time to burn the excess off of the o 2 senors, if engine light comes on after this, shut off engine, and disconnect 1 of the battery cables for about 1 minute, then reconnect the cable, and start engine up, light should be out, but later , i would hook up a code tester to the aldl under the instrument panel on drivers side to make sure code # from the light being on was removed, hope that this information was helpful to you.

My car starts off fine in running, then the lights will go dim and then the check engine light comes on. The gas peddle will not go the whole way to the floor and it will shut off. It must cool down for...

If the Check Engine light comes on there is a problem.
1. Find a new mechanic!
2. After this Check Engine Light comes on there should be a Code or several Codes.
a. If so Turn the Key from off to the ON (not start) position THREE (3) times. On the THIRD (3rd) time leave the the Key in the ON (not start) position.
b. If you have an Digital Odometer, the Code(s) will appear there. "P" followed by four (4) numbers. Let it give you all the codes until it reads "P donE". Record these numbers.
c. If your do not have a Digital Odometer, the Check Engine Light will start Blinking. Carefully count the number of Blinks. Most are in two (2) or three (3) digit numbers. Again let the Light go thru all the "blinks", The Final blinks should be 5 blinks and 5 blinks.
Regarding your dying problem:
Lights dimming after it starts, could indicate that your alternator is failing. One easy way to check this is:
A. Start the car.
B. With the Engine running: Remove the negative (black side) wire from the Battery.
C. If the Engine dies the alternator is bad. The Battery "starts" the engine. The Alternator keeps the engine going.
Regarding your Gas Pedal:
(1) Check underneath the dash where your Gas Pedal it located. Check for wires or anything else that could be hindering the Pedal from going down.
(2) With a Partner pushing down on the Pedal (engine on or off) Check inside the Engine compartment to watch the Throttle Cables for movement or binding. Also (with a partner) Pull on the throttle cable or turn the throttle connection to see if the Throttle is capable of openiing fully. The partner should be looking under the pedal to see if it is also moving. Do not force (too hard) the throttle or cables. If the throttle itself is binding, it may need cleaning: Remove and check for dirt, grime and function (opening / closing all the way). You can use some penetrating oil on moving part to loosen these areas.

I have an 03 Ram 1500, engine light is on, I had

p0440 - Evap. system performance (this could be something as simple as not turning the gas cap several times after you fill up.

p0456 - Evap leak monitor Small leak detected. - Could be related to the previous code.

p2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced limited power : This one you might have noticed the vehicle running rough, overdrive not working properly and cruise control will not set.

p2175 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Low airflow detected.

What you might want to try first is have the codes cleared which most auto parts stores offer this for nothing (unless you have a programmer then you can do it yourself). Pour in some fuel injector cleaner into your gas, put a new air filter on. And when you fill up your gas tank, crank the cap several times when you put it back on.
See if the codes come back on after that.

Sudden loss of power on acord vtec Y reg

The engine light was on, but is now off? I would check for stored engine codes to hopefully get some idea as to what the heck was going on, as your confidence in taking a 200 mile trip is probably a bit shaky. Most parts stores will check for codes for free. You can post any questions u have w/ the codes here, along w/ the above info. Curt

Service engine soon light is on..

If the check engine light has been coming on you could take it to an Advance Auto Parts store and they can run the codes for you for FREE and tell you why the light is coming on. That way you or whoever is not just guessing so you are not replacing parts not needed which can get expensive. Sounds like it could be as simple as a tune up but could also be a sensor of some kind which there are several that could cause your problem. MAP sensor, Mass Air Flow sensor, throttle position sensor just to name a few.

'03 suburban transmission

It might fix the problem but you may also have a shift sensor that is starting to go bad as well take you suburban to autozone or an o'reillys if you have one of those auto parts stores near you and they can do a scan on all the sensors to tell you if your vehicle is showing any problems with any of your sensors I hope this helps you out.

Car has no power. Intermittent problem.

Thru all of the above, has the check engine light ever gone on? Even if it hasn't I'd have the engine codes checked w/ a scan tool, to see if there are any stored codes on the Suburbans computer. U can have it done for free at most parts stores, and they will give u info on what to do to correct any trouble codes that show up. Do the above, and after discussing any codes w/ parts store , if u need further help, let me know. Good Luck!
