When you give the vehickle gas it bogs down
Sounds like a plugged catylic convertor, GM has a Special Policy adjustment that covers the catylic convertors for 10 years or 120,000 miles (190,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. This is for 2001-2002 models with 3.4L or 3.8L engines. If you have a 3.8L engine you want to get this fixed soon, I have seen people drive these things so long with the convertor plugged that they melt a hole in the plastic intake plenum where the EGR port comes into the intake behind the throttle body.

when you give the vechicle gas it bogs down, new fuel filter did nothing new air filter did nothing so it has fuel and air. on the right of the alternator behind the engine i found a connector with no home. not sure where it goes????
2002 Chevy Impala 3.8L engine with a hole burned in the plenum just behind the throttle body. When I removed the throttle body I found antifreeze sitting in the manifold. My first thought was a clogged converter because of the amount of heat coming thru the egr valve. I used an Actron CP9185 scanner and no trouble codes came out of it. Bogging down....yep....clogged converter.
hard to start and when running if you give it gas it will bog down and cut off.
