What in your opinion would cause the timing belt to keep slipping on a 1991 Misubishi Eclipse?
The first generation eclipse had a hydraulic tensioner arm for the timing belt. This device could be faulty although it seems to be working. It's specs call for 75 psi., but they tend to lose pressure after a few years. This and a shaky motor are your two most likely culprits.
Probably a off set holder in the circut or the morot is jumping and bouncing yoru timing belt off but that would take like hitting a curb or something like my buddy did with his civic
