1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse Timing belt keeps slipping

probably not but if may have damaged the timing belt and put the valve timing out and that would prevent the engine from starting

There may be an oil pressure sensor that is telling the computer that there is no oil pressure. That will shut the car off. Either there is not enugh oil pressure or the sensor is malfunctioning.

Probably when you installed new belt you caused the timing to be off and now your camshaft sensor wont allow car to run. 

the best thing to do , buy the book of your car and do what it say to do .

did it make any weird noise when it stopped runnig while driving? . . maybe timing belt slipped . . does it turn over even though it wont start?

Could be get the specs and reset the timing. If it contiues then try working on the fuel filter or idle speed.

check the timing belt ho be sure it hasent slipped off time or even broke

i was able to google it. just type in timing belt diagram 1996 misubishi galant.and then just look up your engine size which u didnt state.If u dont know what size engine u have it's on a sticker under the hood.

it sure sounds like you need a timing light and a tension bar to tighten the timing belt you can't run it around for too long with it loose could cause damage to such a compact engine. Try loosening the nut/pulley that is attached to the loop shaped eyelette, hard to explain (it's made for the bolt to slide in) loosen just enough to put some tension against the belt and then tighten while still pressing against the tool of leverage careful not to damage what you are prying against. This will most likely help but you will most definately need to re time as the belt is no longer in the correct position.
