2006 Chrysler 300c /shifter will not move from park into reverse

The shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and suddenly this occurred then its shifter assembly alignment issue.

could be a selector failure. easiest to check first or internall drama with torqu converter ,one way clutch or other. these will require r@r n overhaul

are the brake lights working? if not you need to fix that first.

with the key on to the first click, see if the shifter will move. if not then the shift lock solenoid is hung up. far as the memory thing. look into the owners manuel.

its probably either one of 2 problems:

1-transmission...lift up the tray next to shifter and there should be a switch/button you can press to release the park brake.

2-gear box

the relay for the shifter is not working. when you press the brake do you hear a click if yes the lock is stuck at the shifter if not check for power at the relay.
