I have changed the license plate light several days ago but both bulbs doesn't work; after the testing of the bulbs, it works. I'm not sure but I think should be the the fuse chip of license plate light broken. However, I can't locate the license plate light after open the fuse box; even no description. Question: 1.) Is that the problem of fuse chip if the license plate out of order? 2.) If so, does the A4 with two sets of fuse box since I can't locate the fuse of license plate light? I can only locate the fuse box at the side of the dashboard. Thanks.
Get your hands on a manual......(OEM or Hanes, etc) either online or from someone who owns the same car. It's the only way to find the correct fuse to see if that's the problem. You could start by checking the color code of the wires to the light........then look for the same color back at the panel.....but that's a pain.Good luck, buddy!
SOURCE: i need help solving an
the number plate light runs off the back lights so their is no seperate fuse ,check teh wires that run into the boot lid as iam sure the fault is here
SOURCE: license plate light do not work changed fuses and
check ground wire and clean bulb socket and contact points well with a high # grit sand paper
SOURCE: My license plate went out on my 2003 Pontiac Vibe.
A fuse would put the tail lights out as well. Probably a fault in the wiring to the light.
SOURCE: license's plate light stopped working even with new bulb.
It wouldn't be a fuse if that's the only light that's not working, I believe all of the parking lights are on the same fuse. It's most likely a bad ground or corrosion inside the socket where the bulb makes the electrical connection. So check the socket to make sure it has no corrosion, if it does, clean it up and apply some dielectric grease (available at any parts store) to prevent future corrosion, and check for a loose or broken ground wire.
