There is a little metal tesion bar/bracket that keeps it in the open or closed position. If your fuel door itself is not bent or damaged then I would check this bar to see if it has been bent or out of place. I'm not sure if there is a replacement part; I just bent mine a little to get it to stay closed. Unfortunatly I left it open the other day when I went thru a car was after fueling and the door is bent now so I have another issue to deal with.

hope that helps

Gas door on my 2008 sts wont stay close

I assume it has a push button for the fuel door. If so then look at the latch that the fuel door grabs on to see if it is broken or stuck on open. If stuck push on it a couple of times and spay it with penetrating oil to loosen. There is other possibilities but let's start there for now. I hope this is helpful.

1999 Chevrolet Venture Power sliding door opens back up after closing. I have cleaned the contacts on the door post and on the door itself. There is nothing in the way, ie: weatherstripping or seat belts....

simple door latch, try unplugging the power and see if the door opens, if it does its not the motor. if the door is out of alignment it wont latch. if the latch in the door is broke it wont latch. try locking the door when its closed.

Location of door chimes module chimes wont stop and the aut door locks lock it back when i unlock it

one of the doors is not closed completely or...... the button is stuck in the depressed position. try each door one at a time, shut each firmly and check the result or................ look inside the door frame when the door is open to see if the button is popped out(there is a button that looks like a stem in the door jam towards the hinge end of the door). if you find one that is stuck (pushed in as if the door was closed) then pop it out with your finger or small screw driver and then lubricate it with a few drops of oil.

Program my remote

Program your factory keyless entry functions
For 2001+ Tacomas equipped with a factory alarm or keyless entrymag-glass_10x10.gif, here are some programming options that allow you to adjust the way your locks work.
The first programming option allows you to set the entry unlock to: (A) unlock the driver door with one push, and the remaining doors with a second push OR (B) unlock all of the doors with a single push.
  • Open the driver's door. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  • (Complete these steps within 40 seconds)
    1. Insert the key into and remove it from the ignition switch 2 times.
      (IN - OUT - IN - OUT)
    2. Close, then open the driver's door 2 times.
      (SHUT - OPEN - SHUT - OPEN)
    3. Insert the key into and remove it from the ignition switch 1 time.
      (IN - OUT)
    4. Close, then open the driver's door 2 times.
      (SHUT - OPEN - SHUT - OPEN)
    5. Insert the key into the ignition switch and leave it in.
    6. Close the driver's door.
    7. Turn the key from LOCK to ON 4 times, ending at LOCK
      (LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK)
    8. Wait for the locks to stop, then remove the key from the ignition switch.
  • On the key fob, press and release both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time.
    1. [For all doors unlock] press and release the UNLOCK button.
    2. [For driver door unlock] press and release the LOCK button.
  • Open the driver's door. The programming is complete. If programming did not occur, start over.

2006 chysler town and country

There should be a manual shut off switch for the doors. shut off the power to the doors then manual open it. you should be able to overcome any debris in the track. then you can clean it out. it the door is locked and won't unlock, the fuel door may be open or cracked open enough to not allow the door to unlock. there is a lever or switch that prevents the door from opening when the fuel door is open.
