YOU HAVE A SWITCH OR A TILT ACTUATOR MOTOR PROBLEM. LINCOLNS HAVE 5 OR 6 ELECTRIC MOTORS MOUNTED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF EACH FRONT SEAT WHICH REQUIRES REMOVING THE SEAT TO INSPECT .THEIR ARE ALSO CABLES ATTATCHED TO THESE MOTORS SO LISTEN WHEN YOU HIT THE TILT SWITCH DO YOU HEAR A MOTOR NOISE? IF YOU DO THEN YOU MAY HAVE A BAD CABLE.

Sounds like you need your occupant classification system checked. It may be sensing weight in the seat when there isn't any. Sorry, but your warranty ran out a long time ago.

SOURCE: I need to remove the rear seat of a 96 Lincoln Continental

Push the lower seat cushion toward the rear of the car and lift, there's 2 hooks approx. 12" or so either side of the center of the seat.
The seat back is held in with 2 bolt located on the lower outside corners.

You'll have to unbolt the seatbelts from the floor to completely remove the seat back.

We are looking at purchasing a 1999 lincoln continental and the drivers power seat will not move back or forward with the power switch. It work all other ways but back and forward. Any ideas on how to...

stay away from the front drive continental, the seat is the least of the problems on those cars. they have bad air ride suspension systems, and weak transmissions DO NOT BUY IT buy a towncar instead

Hello, We can't get the driver's seat to move back and forward, it just got in the position that it's in now and will not move, but the passenger seat will move. Someone said it's the fuse

If the seat is power, you may want to check the fuse first. You can find the location in your owners manual. If the fuse is good, you may have a bad seat motor. That should be taken care of by someone familiar with power seat carriage replacement.

I have a 1995 lincoln continental and I had changed all the airbags (suspension) but car won't raise. Also compressor come on for about 30 seconds and cuts off

I fought with the same issue on my 1997 Mark VIII a few years back, and it turned out that there was a clog in the air line (just a piece of dirt that looked like a tiny piece of the air line itself.

Could also be a loose or leaking air line, since the pump runs and stops at a fixed interval.Make sure that the system actually gains pressure. If not, start checking for an air leak!

Hope that's helpful!

My motorized seat (passenger) doesn't go fully forward, it does go fully back. It seems to stick, and makes clicking noises. It sounds like something is stuck and preventing the forward motion. ...

The most common cause of the problem you are having is with the switch itself.
The switch needs to be removed and cleaned. This helps in some cases, but if its not helping, then switch has to be replaced. The cost of switch is approx $25.You will have to get it from dealer or from local auto part stores. But first try cleaning the switch. Most probably that will help.In cleaning switch. You will have to remove the switch out, disconnect its wires, then clean both wires and switch contacts with cleaner and then reconnect. -------- For instructions and diagrams to disassemble and remove switch on your Lincoln continental , please click the link below:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/passenger-motorized-seat-switch.html ------------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

1999 lincoln continental drivers power seat won't work

Could be any number of items related to the seat
power motor circuit

Start by removing & testing the switches

If modules are involved, then it will be beyond
your ability to diagnose ,without a trouble chart

Check any fuses that apply

If a fuse is blown,replacing it won't
likely fix the issue, only blow again
