HI,
I WANT TO INSTALL REAR CAMERA ON MY JEEP.
AS PER INSTRUCTIONS, I HAVE TO CONNECT POWER SUPPLY CABLE TO REAR LIGHTS POWER. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT COLOUR IS THE WIRE OF REAR LIGHT.
I suppose black one is ground.
THERE ARE:
BLACK, VIOLET, BLACK WITH YELLOW STRIP, GREEN WITH BROWN STRIP, AND WHITE WITH ORANGE STRIP???
THANKS IN ADVANCE
Hi, You must use a volt meter on D.C. current to identify the hot wire. Car wiring is different than household. Any given color may be hot. So key on, lights on. and use a volt meter. Use voltmeter red probe for hot and touch black to any body ground. If shows voltage in D.C. Volt Meter in this manner that is your hot wire. On my SUV the hot was the white waire at the backup light circuit as the tail lamp.
On a 2000 jeep grand cherokee the violet wire with a black tracer is the power for the backup lamp ...the black is ground

You must use a volt meter to identify the 'hot' vehicle wire with the ignition on and the battery connected. On car wiring any given wire can be hot.
