ABS light flashing on and off intermittantly. Stays on when ignition is turned on. New front sensors fitted
Hi I had the same problem with my 06 Kalos and it failed the MOT because of the light staying on I tried all sugestions in different forums including new abs rings new brakes etc what worked for me was swithing the ignition key on and off at least six times turning the key alll the way back and then starting the engine the light did not go initially but the next day but this was enough to pass the MOT it came back on after going over potholes but i done it again and it went off and stayed off.

the abs light can be on because of a faulty wheel sensor or drive-line sensor, when the ABS light comes on the car goes into emergency mode which means it will work like standard brakes and will lock up the wheels, the ABS is disabled so to check it you need to have an ohm meter and test each wheel to see if the wheel is putting out 2.5 volts on each wheel DC. if not that wheel has a problem either the senor got broke because someone ran over something and broke it off or the connectors are full of mud and can't make contact so unplug them and clean them one by one if you find one that is broken replace it turn the key on and off to the run position 5 times then start the car and drive the light should go off it that fixed the problem, if it does not then it needs to be looked at by someone who knows anti-lock braking systems as they are computerized have high pressure and can cost a fortune if you don't know how to test them properly, I suggested the test for the wheel sensors as this is the most common cause so if yo unhook the connector to each wheel and jack up that wheel so you can turn it you can test it for voltage at the sensor ring, with the test meter on 5 volts DC you won't damage anything so that is as far as you should go unless you buy a subscription to all-data for your car and read all the information on the abs system, if you wish to do so and see the recommended price for parts and labor then go to http://www.alldatadiy.com

im guessing you have a problem with one of the abs sensors...probably the front-left wheel sensor. the way they work is they detect when a tire is locking up faster then the others when the brakes are applied. if a tire locks, then the brakes on that tire are quickly released then re-applied, all in a very short amount of time. the sensor may be defective, and sending the cars computer a false signal, making the brakes on that side release a bit, while maintaining normal braking on the opposite side. thats most likely whats making your car pull. also, the abs light will only come on when there is an electrical problem with the abs system. so make sure todo a visual inspection of the wires for the sensors as well.

Check your abs connectors they might have pulled a wire loose
SOURCE: ABS light won't go off
Any chance you damaged or moved wheel speed sensor, or got grease or something on it? I'd check that & make sure, (compare to opposite side) it's clean & spaced same from wheel as other.
