Alternator Trouble I've had my used 2002 Kia Optima for 2yrs. It had 1 owner and when i purchased it the car had 44,444 miles on it. A few months ago i had gotten my 60k tune up but before that I have been having some trouble with my lights, air, and radio going out whenever I press the brakes or the turn signal (which recently started to act up). My speakers in my car were working fine also but the ones on the driver side had went completely out as a result of me not getting it checked out sooner. I thought it was a wiring problem. So i was waiting it until i gotten a new radio to fix that. Then later I gotten the problem checked out and the tech didn't find anything wrong with it. They tighten it up and jiggled it. When they drove it around it didn't give them any problems. So when I got it back it was fine for about 2wks. I think the problem is whenever I hit a bump on the road it starts to act up but my lights don't go out if I don't have them on but now my speakers are acting up again. Also my speakers on the driver side were fixed when i got the car back also. I haven't had any problem when i hit bumps in the road before. I want to could it be that my alternator is going bad or could there be something else?

Thanks. I'm going to take my car to AutoZone and get them to double check to see if there is anything major besides that.

Sounds mostly like that your vehicle is loosing a good ground connection in order to check this check the negative cable and make sure that it is not badly coroded or frayed run yur hand on the negative cable and make sure that it is grounded on most of these vehicle also make sure that the body groun is not broken if yu have recently changed the battery cables make sure that the vehicle body is frounded also.

Need how to set timing belt on kia optima

I had 2006 kia optima 2.4 liter LX, I drove 150000 miles plus, it was over 100,000 miles I changed timing belt, and AC belt, alternator belt is still ok, but it was my fault, I did not change crank shaft balance belt, it next to timing belt, this very important, timing belt and crank shaft balance belt must change same time, you set all mark the same positions, you can see all clear marked
if you had OBD2 scanner is helpful to read all faulty codes if you do it your self repair
if you have any problems about KIA optima, please post on any websites, to share some ideas to other KIA optima owners, like me, I change oil every 2500 miles to make my optima runs smoother
automatic transmission fluid change every year if you put high mileage on your car, optima had hard time to find it own part some time, radiator hoses are still good condition and had hard time to find in any auto part stores in my home town, good luck and thanks for sharing.

2002 Kia Optima runs great, transmission has started acting irradcally. it will shift and pull in gear for a short time after starting, but after a few minutes it fails to move the car. I've changed...

Keep driving it like that & it won't work at all

When ever you even think you have a transmission
issue, you immediately stop using the vehicle or you
end up rebuilding the trans, your call, your money & lots of it

Ask yourself ---Why would changing the fluid do anything?

Old oil out / New oil in ?

You change trans fluid because it breaks down from the heat
That is it's job,to remove heat or your trans fails

Trans & Power Steering get changed every 3 years & not
over 30,000 miles ever on ALL Vehicles

Electric sensor for transmission kia dealer says kia won't fix or repair??

This could be a timing belt as well. have they looked at that as possibility. Sometimes the belt just jumps teeth causing it to still run just not correct.

Please reference the below as well as post reply if this doesn't help

Thanks
