Hi the only thing i can suggest is swap the ignition coils of leads from 3 and 4 around as if the ecu picks up they are around the wrong way it will cut out ignition, also check the cam and crank sensors and the injector plugs are all round the right way

SOURCE: 2001 Subaru Outback I am

I had this same problem, I replaced both idler pulleys on my 2002 H6 sedan, this solved the problem, also the power steering pump onn these cars starts to go out after 80,000 or so. I would look at the belt and the two idler pulleys, if either of them have excessive play(ie-belt looks like it wiggles or moves back and forth at all, while traveling over the idler pulleys-2 on H6, one is a belt tensioner) replace immediatley.

SOURCE: check engine light on in 2001 subaru outback - car

If the light was flashing when it came on, then it means your engine is misfiring.

A solid light can mean anything from a loose/faulty gas cap to a transmission issue.

This light comes on when the computer detects a fault of some sort in its diagnostic tests. If it keeps detecting this issue, the light will remain on. If the light turns off, then it has detected that the issue may no longer be present.

In order to find out what the exact reason was for your light, You need to have your car computer scanned to retrieve the code that the computer would have stored when the light triggered. Most garages will do this free of charge. The code will tell you what may have caused the light to initially turn on.

We have 2013 Subaru Impreza getting codes 7E8 Engine and 7E9 A/T

Hi. I think you bought a new scan tool. No Problem. 7E8 and 7E9 are subcategories for the engine and transmission. Scroll down some more. OBD2 engine codes will always start with "P". Example: P0300- Random misfire. Good Luck.

1996 Subaru Outback 2.5 cranks but will not fire. Replaced wires and crank shaft position sensor. The new plugs have a little oil on them and the fuses are good. Help!

Do you mean it has no spark when you say it will not fire or do you mean it just will not start? Make sure the timing belt is not broken if it has spark

Outback subaru check engine light is on ,please help

the check engine light, could mean just about anything. from oil level to a fuel problem or low on coolant.etc. make sure all the fluids are ok, then if the light is still on it has to be scanned with an obd2 scanner to find the problem code. if you do not have one. you can go to any auto parts store and they will scan it for free. if no code is found, you can erase check engine light with scanner.

Left low beam is inoperative. Replaced both bulbs,

I had the same problem with my 2001 Forester. Try this as a low-cost and easy repair attempt: buy brand new fuses and replace both L/H and R/H fuses. If one of your fuses is marginal, your headlights will exhibit this problem. Replacing my headlight fuses with brand new ones solved my situation.

2007 subaru outback headlight problem

Each head lamp also has it's own relay, you can rule the relay out by swapping the left head light relay with the right head light relay & see if the problem moves to the other side...The relays are also in the same under hood fuse box.
