Peugeot air bag light permenantly on and has been so for the past 4 years. However now this is classed as an MOT failure from 10th April 2012! Ive had the wires checked and it comes up with error code P1801. What does this mean and how can I fix it without having to scrap my car? Thanks Louise

in some manufacture they made the error to come on if the air bag is over certain years old although the error can be
over ridden to say it has been changed

check the fuse if its good then you will have to get it in and checked out cuz that means that your airbag is shorting out and could go off for no reason

The air bag code 44 indicates that the air bag computer is not receiving a signal from the right front air bag sensor. This could be caused from defective wiring (loose wire or grounded through chafing) or the sensor being defective.

Check that the ABS light fuse is not blown in the inside of the car, also check engine ecm fuse replace any fuse that you find blown. If you still can't get it to come on then the most common problem is the light is burned out and will have to be replaced.

have you plugged the air bag wires back in under the seat?
if you have put after market of non genuine seats in you will not be able to turn light off
you could remove the bulb from the dash or just leave it (it will not affect the mot)
