SOURCE: Cigarette lighter plug not working

hopefully nothing serious. if you can, make sure your wires did not burned or got too hot.Visually inspect them. Then, if you have a voltmeter check to see if you getiing power to it. no voltmeter? Go to your nearest auto parts store and ask for a test light. Back to the lighter, if you have power on the wires or wires leading to the back of the lighter, more than like it you lighter burned out.  No power on the wires? make sure wire did not get fryed or burned, all wires look good? check fuses again.  worst case scenario, can't find problem ? you can run another wire from your fuse box to the lighter.

Because it wants you to stop smoking, an alternate to that is the lighter is shorted or the wire leading to it is

Cigarette lighter on 2004 Grand Prix isn't working.

The lighter socket or the element.
Check the element for burn marks and the socket for debris blocking the contacts.

1998 Chevrolet Malibu fuse chart? Need to find why my interior cigarette power, and cigarette lighter are not working.

The fuse will be a yellow 20 amp fuse. The lighter element has a wound peice of metal that gets hot so it will light your smoke. If debries are left stuck in that coil eventually the coil will short out. Inspecting that coil for an open is firat thing to check. Next the casing the lighter fits into has a balast which operates like a fuse. That can be shorted out as well. If either one of these items gets weak and shorts out the fuse will not be blown

92 buick lesabre, all interior lights, radio, seet belt tone im guessing

First of all, you had a short in the electric system that included your cigarette lighter. When you saw the spark, you saw the result of a short. What you are experiencing now is a bad ground in the system.

This is what we refer to as stray voltage, which is why your lights are staying on. This is not aa fuse problem. If you haven't unplugged your cigarette lighter, do so. You are going to need the services of an automotive electrian to solve this problem. The reason your cigarette lighter may have been unplugged is that someone else knew of the existing problem.
