'EASY FIX" last night I had this exact problem left the car at work about 10pm.This morning everyone saying call this mechanic call that mechanic, instead I came here to the internet and found the answer on you tube.
There is a post sticking up from the fuse box in the hood just connect the jumper from another friend's vehicle to that post and another screw in the hood near by the fuse box, get in your car turn the key and waala!! thats it, car starts.

I am a police officer for the city of kinston in north carolina. i just spent the last half hour trying to help a lady with the problem. I used the advise of salvagefirst and it worked like a charm!!! thanks so much. The only difference in my situation was i had to turn the white/clear pin in the hole towards the driver side.

SOURCE: Battery is dead battery is in the trunk, key

you should be able to access the trunk through the rear seat. check your owner's manual. once inside the trunk, there should be a trunk latch release on this new of a vehicle.

Key stuck in ignition of a 2006 chevy trailblazer - accessories had been left on, will not start, battery light on and keyless start/entry remote will not work.

Check with Chevy about their recall on Ignition switches, give them your vin# and they can run what they call a VISS on it. If not charge the battery and spray some WD 40 in the slot while wiggling the key. The remote start wont work because it is detecting a key on position. Unfortunately the repair is not something the average do it yourself-er should try because of the air bag. Good luck.

My key is stuck in the ignition of my 1993 Saturn and won't move or come out. I thought maybe I had left my lights on last night since the car didn't start and the battery seemed to be dead, but then

Your ignition could be stuck. That happened to me on my 2002 Chevy Malibu with 150,000 miles on it. The ignition sometimes gets stuck and freezes up. You'll have to pull it out and put a new one in. You can use the new key or have it re keyed to fit your old keys.

My battery died. After trying to start my car the key is now stuck in ignition, shifter stuck in park, no brake lights. I charged the battery and only get the cluster lights.

Hi there all the things you explain are and need power to operate, make sure your battery has 12.6 volts or more and try again , if your battery doesn't have that voltage then you will need a new battery, hope this helps

06 Colbalt Electrical System Dead

I would go to the positive terminal on the battery anjd check for black hard build up on the post and inside the terminal. This is lead sulphate and cause a high resistance to any high current flow. Clean both with sand paper until shiny and refit and tension properly. Do the negative also as it will have build up but to a lesser degree. If the battery lead runs through a connection box Check for tight connections there also. As to towing most towers have a wheel rack that fits under the tyres and lifts them clear of the road so it can be taken to to a shop.

2003 Aurora, left key on and battery went dead. Recharged battery. Won't start. Turn key to on, security light out and check engine light on. Move key to start and nothing, back to on, one minut

Very interesting site here.. regarding your problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
Another thought.. even though you charged the battery, it's not at all uncommon for a car battery to be very damaged by fully discharging. Especially if not new-ish. One or more cells in it may be bad causing the overall voltage to be under normal. This alone can cause the problem you have. I would try jumping it with another car or test the battery to see if it's got at least 12.7 to 12.9 volts when sitting doing nothing. Good luck.

1996 chevy suburban 5.7 liter. Truck ran fine day before sat overnight went out to start and had the typical signs of dead battery. Tried to jump start, with no results the battery is completly dead also...

My 1999 likes to get angry with it's anti theft system. With the key in the ignition cycle the power locks three to four times, that will normally reset mine and let me start it again. As for the battery going dead, mine has the rear doors instead of the tailgate. The rear door light switch went bad and left the rear cargo light on and that kept draining my battery untill I found it... Good luck, hope.i have helped some.
