No definatly not two types ,,,,but i often use just hydraulic oil as used in tipper rams as its cheaper .my own XJ sovereign is refilled with this as its so much cheaper than branded.the old ford i had years ago likes it well.i mean its good enough for catapiller and komatsu bulldozers

Is it a CVT transmission? If your car is still under warranty from the dealer, better not as the warranty will be void if non genuine products are used. The best solution is to ask the dealer you are going to and go as from what they recommend.

What type of auto-xsmsn fluid. How do you check it. Do you check the fluid level with the car running in Park? What type of fluid Dot3 or ?

Vehicle running, and i park, yes. Use ONLY Honda ATF fluid. This fluid is different than standard auto transmission fluid, and if a not approved fluid it will surely damage the transmission. Ask the Honda dealer for the equivalency in case they dont have it stock. The type my Accord uses is equivalent to Dexron VI , but Honda carries more than one ATF type.

Where does the transmission fluid go in a 2000 Honda accord

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

The transmission fluid circulates on the transmission itself. Please make sure that you have a regular fluid change to lengthen the transmission life.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

How do you check the transmission fluid level?

Welcome to Fixya

This type of model does not have any dipstick to check the fluid level. Checking the transmission fluid requires the use of a special fluid temperature guage which can be ordered from the Honda dealers parts department.

First run the engine at idle speed for at least 3 minutes. Then open the transmission overfill screw with engine running. Place the guage in the over glow until it reached between 90 degrees and 135 degrees F. Then using a syringe or small pump add fluid until it runs out. Replace and Tighten plug to specified torque of 28.

Thank you for using Fixya!

2000 accord ex w/ 4 cylinder engine. The light around the D4 (indicating gear) flashes and the car accelerates very slowly in cold weather until the engine gets warm. What is wrong? How to fix?''

The D4 indicator light flashing indicates that your car's computer believes that there is something wrong with your transmission.

This is what the manual for your 2000 Accord says:

The "D4" indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON (II). If it flashes while driving (in any shift position), it indicates a possible problem in the transmission. Avoid rapid acceleration and have the transmission checked by an authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible.

Sometimes this will mean that you are simply low on transmission fluid, but you really should have it checked.

Hope this helps you.

Car jerks a little when the transmission is shifting gears. It's a 1997 Honda Accord.

not sure how rought but traditionally, Honda's are known to shift rough... its kinda their sporty style. I think its funny that the Accord is considered a "sedan", when clearly is not a Taurus or Impala which are purely sedans.
