Need to find a Serpentine Belt routing diagram for a "95" Pontiac Grand Am. w/Quad 4 engine. I believe that this tensioner has somehow been put on the wrong side of the belt--if I rotate the tensioner counterclockwise, it will relieve the belt tension very little before it comes in contact with the belt under the alternator, and does not give enough slack to even come close to removing the belt? I only have approxamately 1/2 inch of movement with the tensioner, something is very wrong here, and I can't find a diagram in the books I have--have a Cheltons for that year and model but not the Quad 4?? Help!!
Check this on Model GRAND AM, Engine V6 3.1L 189ci GAS FI N M...
Hope helps.

ZJLimited: Thank you for the diagram 6-52, unfotunatly it is the wrong one, the 6-52 is for a v-6 engine--I am working on a Quad 4--four cylinder--I found the right routing--had a mechanic friend who was linked intro Data-Link, he pulled up a picture. Even then the data-link had to search for it--seems that "95" Quad 4's were a wierd deal for about three years. Thanks again for trying. [email protected]
Thanks to everyone for your help--I have the belt replaced and routed the way it was meant to run. Don't know how the heck they got the belt routed the way it was--would have had to remove the alternator, angle it down, pry on it with at least two bars to get the bolts back in???!!! And to top it off the belt was one groove off so it "ate" the outside of the belt off! DUH
