SOURCE: AC compressor clutch not engaging. Fuses ok

sounds like lack of gas pressure,take it to specialist and and get it recharged to the correct weight of gas,it is positivly dangerous to play with this because the A/C uses high pressures and can cause frostbite in 2 seconds when trying to refill with these boy racer silly aftermarket top up cans.THESE SHOULD BE BANNED WORLDWIDE

SOURCE: clutch won't engage on air conditioning compressor

The air gap may be too wide between the clutch disc and plate. It usually happens from wear. You can test this possibility by engaging the clutch electrically as you have done and then push on the disc slightly with the handle of a hammer or screwdriver. Be careful not to get your hand or fingers too close while the engine is running. Basically you are helping the magnetic field pull the disc in. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: My ac is not working on my 2000 mustang 3.8L. I'm

You were close! Most Fords have a CCRM (Continuous Control Relay Module) thats on the passenger side fenderwell. It has 4 relays: one for the AC compressor cluth, one for the fuel pump, and two for the electric fan (high- and low-speed.) The AC is the one that fails the most. You can replace the CCRM by removing the intake air filter box and working through the fenderwell openings. If it gets to difficult you must remove the wheel and splash cover to replace it from the wheel opening.

SOURCE: 2000 Jaguar S-type 4.0 sport no fuel pressure

this is the fuel pump itself that has failed, replace it. It is located inside the fuel tank and is sold as a module assembly about $675
BOSCH Part # 67935 {Fuel Pump Assembly}
or as just a pump which you splice into the old sender assembly fuel pump module for around $120
AIRTEX Part # E2314 {In Tank Electric Fuel Pump}
Strainer included with pump.

Hi my name is leo and I have a 2002 jeep Cherokee Laredo a/c clutch will engage

Faulty low pressure switch , Google it to see how to replace, or you an unlucky it and run a jumper wire between the terminals/ But beware- bypassing the low pressure switch can ruin the compressor if it gets low on freon.

Jaguar x type air con compressor wont engage

ac compressors are protected by high pressure and low pressure switches in the system. If the ac compressor will not engage it may be --no gas--too much gas ---blockage in the system--- no cooling fan for the condensor-- burnt out clutch behind the pulley
have an accredited ac specialist check it out.

The a/c compressor clutch will not engage even when I jump the low pressure switch thats mounted on the top of the accumulator (dryer). Is there another method such as direct from the battery? There are...

The low pressure switch is just a sense input to the PCM - powertrain control module > Grantit , it is needed for the PCM to know the pressure in the system . But the PCM must energize the compressor clutch relay for the compressor to engage . Finding the compressor clutch relay in the under hood fuse / relay box an testing there would be the best place to start . Pull the relay out of the fuse box , look on the bottom ! You should see four set's of number's ,30 & 87 plus 85 & 86 . 30 & 86 should have B+ voltage . Use a multi-meter to test . 85 goes to pin # 1 connector 3 at the PCM . The PCM supply's a ground here to energize the relay if condition's are right . You could jump pin's 30 & 87 an if the compressor clutch coil is good ,the compressor clutch will engage . Video's on youtube showing how to do these test .

97 chevy suburban AC clutch won't engage pressures

Looks like the low pressure switch gets power from a 10amp ac fuse. Power then goes to the ac relay which is powered on by the ac heat controller on the dash. Power then goes thru the high pressure switch to the compressor. The ac relay is grounded to the body. Do you have power on the lite and dark green wires going into the relay and is it grounded ?

2006 didge mega cab 5.9 diesel..A/C clutch will not engage...Dealership dianosed a bad a/c compressor coil..I did not let dealership do the 1635.00 job...I purchased NEW replacement parts and had a local...

twstn79, Try checking the fuse and relay located in the power distribution box in the engine compartment. There is a legend on the inside of the cover to tell you which fuse and relay to check. For the relay, just switch it with the horn relay and try the horn to test this. Check the plug at the low pressure switch to see if there is power there. It is the low pressure switch that sends power to the clutch to engage it. If the fuse and relay test good and you have no power at the low pressure switch plug then the problem could be in the wiring and will have to traced. If there is power at this plug then check the switch itself. The switch can be checked with a DVOM meter. Check the switch, with the engine off, for continuity. If you get no reading then the switch will have to be replaced. Another possibility is the switch in the dash panel and/or any associated wiring. Good luck with this.

AC compressor won't engage clutch

Lots of things can cause this, I will list them, easiest first.

A blown fuse or relay can prevent the clutch from kicking in. Low refridgerant charge will also do this, the low pressure switch will prevent the clutch from engaging when there is low refrigerant to prevent damage. You may need to put more in, and you also may need to jump the low pressure switch to get the compressor going to add more in. Very rarely the controls could have gone bad, which are the buttons on the dash. Id check out the fuses, relays, and pressure in the system first. A shop may even do a free diagnosis for you.

My jag's a/c compresor froz up and now shop wast 1200.00 for change out and charge system. Is that all it will need jag X type 3.0

The AC is driven by a pulley pulled by the serpentine belt. When the AC is switched on an electrical clutch engages the driven pulley with the AC compressor on the same shaft. If the AC compressor is frozen up the pulley will not turn when the AC is switched on and the belt will squeal as it is pulled over the static pulley wheel. If, when the AC is switched on, the pulley wheel continues to spin then it is likely that the electrical clutch is not engaging. It is much more often the case that the clutch fails before the AC seizes. If this is the case check out the AC fuse and clutch relay. The fuse can be inspected visually and the relay can possibly be inter- changed with one that is similar (windscreen wiper or electric windows). The relay should make a 'click' that can be heard when the AC is switched on. Put the suspect relay into a circuit that you know is working in order to check it.
