My 2000 beetle won't come out of park when the engine is on

My car won't shift out of park when my car is on. I've had this problem before, but it usually shifts after a few minutes. How do I fix this?

Sometimes the steering wheel has a lock mode when the car is off, and then gets stuck there. Try wiggling the wheel after you start the car.

I have a 2003 Ford Explorer and my truck won't shift into park I litterally have to hold the brake all the way down forit toshift

I think this is a safety feature built in to the car. I've had several cars that won't shift unless the brake is pressed.
