The car all of a sudden without warning just wont start. the battery was replaced less than a month ago. the car runs with a jump, but sputtters coming to a stop until i gas it. Once the car is shut off it wont start. lights all work inside and out. what could it be?
Also check manifold vacuum at idle the best you can hold an idle. I have run into timing belt being one tooth off and engine still ran fine. But the vacuum was low that's how I could tell the belt was a tooth off.

same thing but sometimes it starts right off; sometimes it doesn't. It's not the battery. Sometimes after you are running down the road a bit it will cut out and won't start again unless you pump the gas and keep cranking or just wait a long time. Could this be a fuel filter or fuel pump problem; it is intermittent but getting more frequent.
I will check the cam belt; haven't done so yet. Have 105,000 miles and it runs great even though it is a 2.7 engine, there is no engine sludge and no noticeable engine knock or other noisenoise; may even be a replacement engine for all I know. I only recently bought it. It doesn't exhibit any of the posted problems of the "dreaded 2.7 engine" of that year.
