I think the latch is still locked or broken. Replaced the door handle, the back of the lock broke that works the lock rod. I put the car back together without the rod hooked up to anything. Now the door will not open from the inside or outside, I have tried to do the lock manually from the inside. nothing works.
Best Manuals Greetings, I read your question and I think Reliable-Store can help you in this. Here's the site link
SOURCE: outside sliding door handle?
Yes. It is a difficult job, but not impossible. The hardest part is actually removing the interior door handle. Here are the steps.
re-assembly is the reverse of the removal
SOURCE: Door won't unlatch or come open
Ford had a problem with the door handles not working properly. They are cheap plastic. If the exterior door handle is broken, you will need to drill out the rivets that hold it in, and then get the door open and the panel off. You have to disconnect the rod going to it. Then, remove the handle. If you don't want to drill again, I suggest replacing the rivets with a bolt and nut easily obtainable at your hardware store. I've found that a M7 bolt works very well. If you are having a problem with the interior door handle, it's the same problem. Remember to check your door latch because if your exterior handle is broken, then your latch isn't working properly. I got one at Ford for about 40 bucks.

linkage on inside of door has come undone. take off inside door panel and you will find a small rod that goes to the lock mechanism where the door closes opposite the hinges. follow the handle to the door lock.the nylon bushing may have broken.they are cheap to purchase at auto part stores.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up taking it to someone I know that is real good with cars. He had the door open in 15min or so. It really helps when you know what you are doing.
