cute, isn't-the engineers that designed it really had a sense of humor...the best way to go about it is to remove the cover above the lip that is in the way-then remove the wiper motor and the linkage/blades. I have done a few, after you do them a few times it is not that bad, but the first time...It then helps to have very long arms, extensions with swivels, and even a mirror, at least it isn't a V-12...
this is normally caused by a bad wiper motor or binding of the wiper gears and linkage arms.
check to see if the linkage arms are tight and not loose. also try and lube up the pivot points.
another thing to check is to make sure you have 12 volts to the heater.
Try to run the motor without the wiper arms tightened down and turn it off so it can cycle down to its rest state. Then install the wiper arms.
Make sure, that the car's windshield wiper wiring is correct for this motor.

The windshield wiper linkage comes as an assembly. The assembly comes with the two rotating splines that the wiper arms attach to. you must remove wiper arms. Remove cowl trim and remove bolts that hold the pivot points to the body. The new linkage that snaps to the wiper motor should come with a new retaining clip. You have to fish the linkage assembly through the access holes in the body by un bolting the wiper motor.

Hi, These arms have what looks like teeth gears that they fit onto. There is a spring clip on the bottom of the arm that holds the arm onto that geared shaft. When you push it on make sure it is in the correct position and you should hear a click if the spring clip is working OK. You should not be able to pull it back off easily without releasing the clip. Sometimes they get pulled off in a car wash without breaking the clip. Good Luck, hope this Fixsya!
