Rebuild chevy tahoe's transmission

Unknown, suggest you contact whomever did the rebuild.

Assuming you have checked your transmission fluid levels, you may require a soft parts rebuild of your transmission, or an adjustment of your upper clutch band

Fluid level. Replace trans filter and fluid. No luck? May have to rebuild unit. To prevent this from happening, change trans fluid every 24K miles or so.

Probably the speed sensor on the transmission. It would cause both problems. You should also have a check engine light with a trouble code for the sensor.

Have a local transmission shop drive it, it sounds like you may need a rebuild.

When I lifted my truck it did this and ended up being a ground wire that I forgot to hook up.

yes it will as long as it is the same model transmission. As long as you get a transmission out of a standard cab truck you should be ok. ( for a good idea Most 88-98 gm trucks, full size blazers,jimmys,tahoes, and yukons will interchange) same chassis just different bodys and emblems

If it backs up but won't go forward it's an internal transmission problem. You'll want to have a transmission shop do a complete rebuild. They always do that because taking it out and reinstalling it is such a big deal. (The transfer case merely splits the power between the front differential and rear differentials when you go into 4WD; it sends it only to the rear differential for 2WD). Shop around for prices and compare warranties.
