2005 dodge crankshaft sensor

I have replaced the sensor 3 times and same problem comes back after driving about 200 miles. The engine light comes on and the engine bogs down. Someting is causing the sensor to go bad?

    2005 Dodge Neon SXT, had it for 3 years, bought brand new.

    After shopping at a nearby store for about an hour, car cranked fine, but jerked out of parking space. Stopped after about 10 seconds. Drove about 100 feet, stopped at red light. When light turned green, it jerked again. Felt like it couldn't get the gas right.

    Went about a mile and stopped at fix-it shop. Diagnostic said crankshaft sensor and O2 sensor. Got it replaced next day. Drove 2 miles there and 2 miles back. That night, drove 1.5 miles and the engine light came on again.

    What problems can this cause? Will driving it damage the engine?

    Replaced cam, crank and computer... the only thing left is the wiring harness but the dealership wants $1,700 for that! Let me know if you find out something.

Can a P0340 also reflect a broken timing belt?

code p 0340 refers to camshaft position sensor(CMP) sensor A bank 1---circuit malfunction===causes ---wiring---CMP sensor ECM
have the CMP sensor checked / replaced
when you are checking the sensor , turn the engine over and if the camshaft is turning , it is not a timing belt
However if the engine has not had a timing belt changed (requirement at 60K miles) It would be a good move to have it done as it is well over due and will fail soon

Check your vacuum lines, it sounds like one did not get reconnected correctly. When this happens you check engine to come on and will cause your engine's rpm's to rise.

I have a 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 dual overhead cam. When driving down the road, bell goes off, check engine light comes on, and it's like I'm driving on limp mode, when going over 2000 rpm's, there's a severe stutter. After getting code for light it points to cam shaft sensor, which i changed. I also changed crank shaft sensor. After all of this was done, drove great for about 30 miles and the same thing happened all over again. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Engine light comes on 2003 Jeep grand cherokee laredo

Check the Fuel Pump Relay, it may be malfunctioning and need replaced. Also, in some vechicles, if the batter is disconnected and reconnected, the service engine light will come on from time to time, going off and on simultaneously. Have a diagnostics done to see if any codes show up. If no codes appear, then have them all cleared and drive for another 200 miles. Sometimes the computer will need to be cleared a couple times before the light will stay off. Make sure that all fuses and relays are good, and securey in place. Check all factory installed lights to make sure they are good, and securly in place as well.
