I have a 2006 is250 lexus push button start and it only starts sometimes....radio, lights, nav everything works but it won't crank....takes 3-4 times before it cranks and it doesn't happen everyday it's sporatic...any help would be great! Dealer where I bought a few wks ago says they can't find problem. Lexus says pay us $150 for a diagnostic test (which I already got at the E-check place)

If your is exhibiting the same signs as a dead battery it really sounds like your alternator is bad. If you are handy, you can remove the alternator and take it to an autoparts store like autozone and they will test it for you. This is not a hard job to do, usually 2 electrical connections, 3-5 mounting bolts and you have to pop the belt off. Just reverse it to install a new one. Good luck! - Nick

it has electric power steering, take it to the dealer and ask if the service campaign has been done on the power steering rack. if not then it will be free and they will wash your car for you, fill up your gas tank and replace the steering rack and align the car. if it has been done then maybe they didnt reset the steering gear ecu.

Hey Guys, The problem is that the 12V battery is low or dead. Having the battery replaced will fix this issue. (I have the same vehicle, had the same problem, and this was the fix)
