This may or may not help. Hopefully it will. We recently purchased this 1998 chrysler town & country. Everything was working fine, started fine, etc. we took it to get emissions done.....passed emissions.. .made it home. i turned the car off to run inside for a minute. came back out car started.. ran for 3 seconds than died out. tried again... ran for 3 seconds than died out... after that it no longer would do anything. all the lights worked except in the ignition module. the top dashboard lights worked though. I then noticed that the "alarm set" light stayed lit. after replacing fuses and running an OBD test and found no trouble codes or issues with fuses it dawned on me it may be the alarm. after searching the internet for hours i found a forum that suggested unplugging the battery for about 5 minutes....rehook it and then try starting it again. well i tried doing that the first time using the REMOTE to unlock the doors and nothing happened. i locked the doors and repeated the same battery unhook-rehook process except without using the remote... (i noticed a lot of forums saying that the remotes can be deffective in that they somehow trigger the alarm if the transmitter is not working properly as well as the fact that chrysler has issues with their anti-theft systems and if the alarm is set than it will act as a kill switch not allowing your ignition to work).. so after unhooking and rehooking the battery and using only the key to unlock it started right up! so i've decided to not use the remote at all and have had no other problems. let me know if this helps

Engine cranks 6 to 9 times before will start on my 1999 sunfire, 2.2litre. Has about 263,000 miles on it and runs smooth as silk after starting.

I would start with the fuelpump, put a gauge on the feul line then start car and shut down, then watch to see if preasure drops, you may have a bad pump that drains down after shut down, then take a while to build preasure back up, start with this test first. hope this helps.

Let's see if there is really a diagnostic expert out there for this... 1996 Plymouth Voyager 3.3L engine with 165,000 miles. I'm having intermittent starting problems. I can drive for weeks and no...

The way to approach this sreies of issues is to first remove the remote start/alarm from the equation and restore the vans electrical system back to original. From there, if it persists, we can do more trouble shooting. Let me know and I can walk you through the process. This is definately a problem that does require a diagnostician. Thank you for the level of detail you provided!

Engine stall problem

SADLY MOST OLD VOLVO'S SUFFER FROM A PLETHORA OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS...THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T SEE MANY OF THEM.  SOUNDS LIKE A INTERMITTENT GROUND CONNECTION.  THE WAY TO SLOVE IT IS TO SEE OF VOLTAGE IS GETTING TO THE STARTING CIRCUIT DURING THE PROBLEM...IS THERE A BRAKE PEDAL LOCK OUT SWITCH?

Think it may be the starter

Well there could be two problems here, it could be starter or it could be starter switch. Now when you turn the key to start does it click or do you have to turn it off and on 2 or 3 or or more times before it will engage and start? I know you said there is no crank, i just want to know if it clicks. Because if it clicks than most likely its starter, but if don't click its most likely the starter switch. Now before you go buying parts you may not need, make sure you chk. the ovious first, like all connections make sure battery cables are clean and tight, and that goes for the starter too. starting problems always show up in cold weather, and most of the time its because of poor matinence, i'am not saying thats your case but believe me it happens alot. Now if every thing chks. out ok and starter does not click then its most likely starter switch, most starter switches are located under dash on steering colume.

Starting problem

My van is doing exactly the same thing. It will crank, then cut right off, after I try 3 times it doesn't do anything. After that it may not start for a couple of days, but if I leave it alone after the first or second try it may start back in an hour or so. It was fine for about 4 months, then just started back up. If you found a solution, please help me....
