SOURCE: No headlights

I am not much of a mechanic any more ,but I do have some experince with electronics and for any circuit to operate battery has to flow to ground.Direct battery to ground will blow a fuse or melt your wiring if the fuse does not blow.If your parking lights stay on all the time then there is a complete path from battery to grd through the lights, and it sounds as though what ever is causing the problem on the parking lights is killing the path to your lamps relay.A wiring diagram may be available on the internt or library.Good luck.

SOURCE: No headlights, or dash lights.

check the ground cable at the battery , youll see a break in the ground wire at the battery box, check to make sure the bolt is tight and not corroded (the break is the ground for most of the lighting )

SOURCE: no tail lights or running lights

Next step, replace the Power Distribution Module. It probably has a short in it also. Why in the hell anyone would think it was a good idea to put the fuse box with two circuit boards in it(not properly sealed) is beyond me. I wonder if they would take their lap top into the shower to see if it would still work. Please make a complaint about this poorly designed product at this site. www.nhtsa.gov Chrysler should take responsibility for this problem. I think they keep their company afloat with all the modules they sell.

I purchased a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage and then realized I did not have break lights. All other lights on the vehicle work great. Hazards and turn signals also work fine. Bulbs are good. Fuses look fine but...

Check all fuses first. Some fuse blocks are in the engine area, passenger area and in the trunk. If the fuses are ok, check or replace the actuator switch near the top of the brake pedal arm. If you can twist and lay on your back, you can usually remove and replace it pretty easily.

Trunk won,t open so I can get to boot to open mu gas tank

Have you checked the fuse panel for blown fuses? If not, check there first. If so, check to be sure all the wiring harnesses in and around the fuse panel are tight ans secure. If you're really in a pinch and you have rear folding seats you can crawl into the trunk that way.

My asb light comes on when starting and stays on. Lights won't come on , power locks won't work, power windows won't work, radio won't work. All fuses are good and car runs fine.

Those are all really common symptoms of the alternator going bad on those cars. I would have it checked to make sure it's charging properly.

Brake lights won't work

I imagine that includes all three brake lights on the rear. If not then please clarify further..

Check condition of fuses and power to the brake light switch which sits at the top portion of the brake pedal arm. If the switch has power, then check that it is making a circuit when the pedal is depressed. If not, then replace the switch. (most likely issue)
If it isn't the issue, then check all rear light cluster connections and wiring loom for condition and connection.

It's likely a fuse or the switch though, so check those first.

After jump starting trunk latch, sunroof, door locks and map lights won't work

when jump starting volvos turn the lights on this will stop the power surge from blowing fuses or relays that have stopped all your bits from working

Why aren't my turn signals, brake lights, parking lights, dome lights and trunk light not working when the fuses are good?

A mechanic would check for power at the headlight switch and turn signal switch then go from there.
Might be a fuseable link in the engine compartment.

Have a 2001 jaguar vanden plas. It won't start. It cranks fine battery is good but it won't turn over. I have been told could be fuel filter and or fuel pump. If you agree how do i change

To confirm that is is the fuel pump at issue here get a can of spray starting fluid and next time it won't fire up spray it into the air intake hose of the engine while someone cranks the engine over, if it lights right off then the pump may be the problem. A clogged fuel filter may cause loss of power but seldom if ever a no start.
