Banging inside dashboard

Sounds as if the ignition cylinder has an internal problem. You may have a sticky wafer inside the cylinder. You can try using some WD 40 and inserting the straw inside the cylinder and giving it a good spray. You can also try gently rocking the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. With out the ignition cylinder turning, the gearshift will not come out of park nor will the steering wheel come unlocked. Hop this helps

Sounds like the R/F transmitter in your key fob has malfunctioned. Get the dealer on the phone. They are probably the only ones who can help you.

First, ensure the card key in the car space (or in the car, or in the car'soccupants body); second, may the owners in the previous parking flameout, away from the door when the steering wheel started locking function. Side with the left hand first anticlockwise hit the steering wheel,while attempting to toggle the ignition switch, it can make the steering wheellock to start the engine. theres some physical defect in steering colum and wheel/brake area--start doin an inspection--get a haynes book at a parts store or go to chiltons online or library

try wiggling steering wheel at same time try to turn key.if ignition switch not turning.

possible intermediate steering shaft, becomes lose and annoying, are you making a hard right turn? does it happen when you go over bumps?

your ignition switch is bad in the start position,or there is a broken wire in the harness..

Try pulling the wheel as far one direction as it will go in the locked position. Then while holding the wheel, turn the key. This has worked for me everytime (3x) I have experienced this.

Get the steering wheel to move even just a little bit and it will unlock.

This is a very simple and inexpensive fix. If you look at your steering wheel on the underneath right side of your ignition you will see a small hole small enough for the tip of a pen to fit in. Place a harder object into that hole and push up. This will release the whole ignition from the console. Go to an auto body parts store ( i.e. Auto zone, Napa) and get a new one. This new one will come with a new key also and your old key will not work. Replace the ignition switch into the same whole and make sure you hear it click into place. Then turn your ignition with your new key and your car should start.
