2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Water Pump?

My water pump went out on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 (5.2). The manual said that I have to have a spanner wrench to take the fan off, but I can not find a spanner wrench anywhere. Any ideas on how I can get the fan off without a spanner wrench, or what size spanner wrench i need to order? Please any idea will help

The spanner wrench holds the fan pulley in place while I unbolt the Fan, I know that is a 36mm, but the spanner wrench is what I need. a spanner wrench opens like a normal wrench but, has a small nipple on each end that goes inside selected holes on the fan pulley.

Can we have a picture of fan/pump assembly?
if not, just fit the correct size of wrench on the bolts.
if you have adjustable wrench that could reach those bolts.
use socket wrenches, or close type wrench.

email me the picture. [email protected]

How do I locate and replace the temp. sensor on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L engine?

Look down by where the upper hose attatches to the engine block behind the alternator. You will see it next to the thermostat housing.

Water pump replacement

I've never worked on this sort of vehicle but when I replaced my water pump in another, I had to losen the Alternator to get the belt off since it went to both. You'll need to get a manual on your vehicle from an auto parts store. THere should be directions in that about how to replace your water pump.

Unable to remove fan from water pump

Remember, fan has a reverse thread. Righty-tightey, lefty-loosey does not apply. You need a clutch fan wrench. (available at your local auto parts store.)

Need to get this fixed remove water pump pully on 99' dodge 5.9 liter

You will need a special holding wrench made by "LISLE TOOLS" or "OTC", most tools stores stock it
its fairly cheap, looks like a long thin como wrench, and might com in two pcs, one for fan clutch.
good luck
