The entire dash assembly must be removed for heater core replacement. The AC will have to be evacuated and recharged as well for heater core removal. Airbags will also have to be disconnected. You can expect 7-8 hours labor with a good mechanical background behind you. I would have a pro do it
Either rip the whole dash out, or take it to a shop that will.

Really, you need to use what the manual reccomends, in your case that should be premium. While you will usually not suffer damage from using lower grade, you will suffer performance and economy loss.
