Rear door handles are not working on my 1998 dodge ram 1500 quad cab.
I removed the handle and tried to pull on rods, but only the top will release. how do you get the bottom to release?
The bottom latch was rusted locked. I had to pull on bottom rod after top was already released and kick out the bottom of the door. I had to replace the bottom latch.
Just finished tonight with the same problem on my 2000 ram, i cut the studs out with a drimel tool, and also the latch, with this out of the way the door opened easily,, have to replace bottom latch later . total time about 1 hour tigerhunting

I have the same problem...tried kicking the door bottom out with the rod pulled up...will try harder.
