I have a problem as my ABS light will not turn off after fixing the previously jammed rear wheel. Somehow it was jammed and the problem started with a bad handbrake. Since the brakes are now working fine after i repaired it the ABS light is annoying me and I dont know how to reset it. The ABS is automatically turned off now wich is a bad thing. Anyone knows what to do now? Problem started with a jammed rear brake and since it all works fine after rapairing the light is still on. The Pads are not worn out. Still have 5mm of proper pad before they wear out completely. I dont thinkt it is the sensor as the problem started with one locked rear wheel. Isnt the computer seeing that I restored the brake? or does it need a reset? I unplugged the battery for 20 seconds but this did not seem to work. Is 20 sec too short? Who knows what to do? Thanx! Cheers! Milko
Unplugging the battery should clear it, try doing it for 5 or 10 minutes just in case, the only other way is to clear it with a OBD2 capable scan tool, also there could be an issue you havnt noticed and that was caused due to jammed brake. some parts stores will let you use thier scan tool provide the car is at the store, i would scan it just to double check the code then use the scan tool to clear it. most shucks/oreilleys parts store can do this

Hi, i found where is the problem and its your sensor near the brake of each wheel you must use a hammer and bang (knock) the sensor of each wheel just a little not to hard and see what happening after each wheel. I think its the position of the sensor move every 3 or 6 month and need to be replace because of the dirt in the break.
This work for my nissan altima 2004 perfectly at no cost

that has four wheel anti lock so your gonna need to either take all them off and clean ends it may correct the problem but more than likely your gonna have to take to a large shop that has abs computer to find which sensor is bad then correct the problem

The first step in diagnosing this problem is to hook it up to an ABS scan tool and see what trouble codes it has put out.

A component of your abs system is likely bad. It may be and usually is an abs wheel sensor that goes bad. Have the abs trouble codes read to find out exactly what is bad.

Master cylinder and/or brake booster could be the problem. A tiny bit of air in the system will effect your braking abilty. A fault in the ABS system would prompt the computer to trigger the ABS light. If you have brake shoes on the rear, make sure they are properly adjusted. Hope this helps.
