The radio in my 1992 ford taurus will not come in when I turn on the car. If I unhook the power wire and plug it back in, the radio will come on. When I switch the car off, the radio goes out again. The next I switch on the car, I have to do this process over again. What could be causing this?

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus, just installed a factory stereo/heat control unit back in the car but I have no power to the stereo. What should I check?

I would check the fuses for the radio. One should be in the engine compartment distribution box and there should be another fuse in the interior fuse box. If these fuses are intact and you have a multimeter, I would check the presence of at least 2 pins with + 12 Volt on the radio connector. The pin out diagram can be seen if you do a search for the 2001 Taurus. Good luck, hope this helps.

How to unhook wiring harness between drivers door and door jamb on 2002 ford taurus

I'm pretty sure that Ford is like everybody else. You will have to remove the inside panel and disconnect all the plug-ins and feed them out the hole in the door. Tag the harness's as you remove them or take pictures so you get them back on the right plugs when you put it back together. Hope this helps.

The radio on my 1992 taurus was working last night but today it will not even turn on.

This radio has a soft switch in that a triac actually supplies the power. . The only thing to do is to first check to see if power is going to the unit. (The obvious has to be eliminated.) Then have the radio taken in for service. An alternative is to acquire one out of a recycle yard. There are plenty of them floating around, and you should be able to get one for $25-$75 bucks, depending on how friendly they are.

1996 Ford Taurus will not start. The car has power and gas.

spark coils are located on top center of the engine under hood. wiggle connections and see if there are any loose. If you can not find the coils, follow the spark plug wires back from the spark plug it will lead to the coil. good luck

1992 Ford Taurus wagon not starting, but turns over

You might have a problem with your crank sensor or ignition. Remove spark plug wire and check for spark while turning engine over. When this happens unplug crank sensor near crank pulley then plug back in to see if it starts if so replace crank sensor.
