I have a 2003 Monte Carlo SS and it has climate control. The problem is the heat stays on all the time on the drivers side even when you push the heat lever all the way down to cold and have the a/c on. The passenger side works fine and will adjust cold or hot. AQny suggestions on a fix?

Your heat cold damper is not closing. Actuator could be sticking or bad. Or some of the foam has come loose on the damper seal. Have seen leaves in the system causing obstruction. The problem is most vehicles require dash removal to fix the problem.

SOURCE: duel heat control works on one side, but the other only cold air

you need a new passenger side temp door actuator. Honestly I would have a dealership do this because they can be a bit of a pain especially if you have the console up front in the middle. If you decide to do it yourself first remove the console, and take a good look at the new actuator, then look up under the dash on the side of the heater box and you will find the actuator. make sure it is the right one and DO NOT!! plug in the electrical connector to the actuator until it is securely mounted to the temp door and heater box. Thanks for choosing fixya!! good luck.

SOURCE: I have a 2004 monte

Hello and welcome. this is caused by a bad temp door actuator for the drivers temp door. you will need to replace the drivers temp door actuator. this is a electric motor that moves the temp door from cold to hot and hot to cold

SOURCE: 2007 Chevy Silverado dual climate control, even if

Just had this happen today to my 2007 silverado heat on the right side cold air on the left side. After engine was off 15 minutes and restarted heat was on both sides. I'm guessing a relay failed to open door to allow the heat to flow thus blowing cold air.will monitor diligently for a while.

I have a 2003 Monte Carlo SS. The dual climate control doesn't seem to work properly. With AC going, passenger side blows cold air but the drivers side blows warm air as if it is set for "vent". I replaced...

check the actuator motor and make sure it is moving the doors between the heater and the ac. it is in the center of the heater inside the car and is a small motor attached to the heater housing.

2001 Monta Carlo will not heat only on the passanger side. a/c works fine. Has dual controls. It heats fine on the driver's side.

there is a motor to drive the door open and closed on each side - door could be stuck or motor /coupling bad - a scanner should give a code for climate control
