SOURCE: where is the air cabin filter in a 2004 gmc sierra

I can only advise you as to the replacement of a 2002 Sierra, under the dash behind the glove box compartment is a plastic panel held on with four screws, remove this panel and the cabin air filter should be easily identified and replaceable, if you purchase a filter from an Auto Zone Auto parts store or a similiar parts store, they will advise you of whether your vehicle is equipped with the filter/filters and also where its location will be.
Some vehicles are equipped with (two) cabin filters, and also I am told that if you purchase an OEM part(Original Equipment Part) instructions are to be included in the box to further assist you.

Hi,

The source that I use in my business is AutoZone. I see cars that I've never even heard of before and threir 'How To' site always come through. The URL is set forth below and you just click on the first letter of the procedure. For example, click on F for 'fuel filter'.

The cab in my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 smells, does it, or does it not have a cabin air filter? I see conflicts all over the web, but major parts stores are willing to sell me one...

The smell is not from the cabin air filter, it is mold and mildew that is growing in the ducting and AC evaporator core, it needs to be treated with special chemicals to kill the mold and mildew, contact your local dealer or an AC repair center near you. Your vehicle shows that it DOES NOT have a cabin air filter.

Where is the cabin filter on a sierra 2004 gmc sle crew cab truck

The 04 SIERRA is behind a panel with 4 screws under the glove box...Remove the screws and cover and slide it out. There is actually 2 in there and it is easy once the cover is off.

Usually there are extremely detailed instructions that come with the new filter when you open the box...Follow these instructions it shouldn't be too hard.

Hello roesusie: My name is Roger and I will answer for you. In 2003 GMC did not put a cabin air filter in the 1500 or Denali trucks. There is no openings in the heater case for a filter. Some one would have to physically cut the heater case to install it. Sorry I could not give you the answer you wanted. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way I know it was helpful.Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
