Wont go all the way up have to pull it the rest of the way up by hand the front window regulator went out before so i replaced it but im thinking the rear one may only need a motor when i bought the new regulator for the front window it came with a new motor so i still have the good motor from the front i can use from what i have read the front and back window motors are the same

SOURCE: front and rear motor mounts

Use a floor jack with a piece of scrap lumber to support the whole OIL PAN and lift the engine enough to remove the weight off of the defective motor mount, then replace the bad motor mount one at a time.

Note: There is 3 of these motor mounts and it might make it easier if you remove the bolt for the center mount so the engine will lift & lower easier to do the replacement.

SOURCE: my 2000 mitsubishi galant es went dead, motor will turn over but

do you have spark? How do you know if your timing belt is good? sometimes it doesnt break just shed the teeth which could be missing under the crankshaft. The best way to check is to have two people. have one try to start the car and see if the camshaft is actually spinning. The crankshaft will always turn but if the teeth are gone on timing belt this would cause the belt to stay in one position not moving the camshaft. so if you can remove the upper timing belt cover and do this quick inspection with someone that will tell you for sure. if it does look like it is spinning then by hand turn engine very slowly with plug coil wires removed. and make sure teeth are all there. It couldve jumped timing. (valve timing)

SOURCE: Replacing drivers side rear view mirro in Mitsubishi Galant 1997

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

How to change headlight on 2000 galant

  • 1
Place the Mitsubishi on a flat service in park. Set the parking brake before continuing.

  • 2Open the Galant's hood and locate the headlight cover -- roughly 3-inch wide circular piece of plastic -- behind the headlight bulb intended for replacement. Turn this cover clockwise to unlock it and pull it from the headlight assembly, exposing the headlight socket below it.

    3

Hold the rear of the headlight socket and turn it counterclockwise to unlock it. Pull the headlight socket and bulb from the headlight assembly.

    4

Grab the bulb and pull it from the socket with a slight wiggling motion.

    5

Pick up the new 9003 headlight bulb using a clean, lint-free cloth and line up its prong with the slots in the socket. Never tough the bulb with your bare hands, as the oils left by your hands can cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.

    6

Slide the socket and new bulb into the headlight assembly and turn the socket clockwise to lock it into place.

    7

Place the plastic cover behind the bulb and turn it counterclockwise to lock it into place.

    8

Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for the headlight bulb on the other side of the Galant, if needed.

    9Close the Galant's hood.

How do you replace the ceiling in a 1994 Mitsubishi Galant

remove all pillar trim pcs.(2front,2center and 2 rear-they are held in by clips so they just pull off-be careful not to brake them)remove front handles on headliner, remove sunvisors and visor holders remove clear cover from dome light ,remove dome light(2 screws)-you will see headliner plastic keepers pull off and headliner will come down ,fold down or remove front seats to pull out and install new headliner-reverse all the steps-keep all your mounting screws and clips with each part removed so you wont have trouble finding them-good luck

My rear passenger window won't roll down.

definatly no fuse try and swap the rear window swithes over and see if the other window works with that switch but my guess is that it is the regulator in the door not the motor ,that is the cablr that the motor wind up and down open the door cover and have a look at it
